  1. My computer froze on me on Thursday night, hasn't done that before, so I turned it off, waited 10 seconds, turned it back on again and got a screen which had.... Award BootBlock BIOS v1.0 Scanning BIOS Image in Hard Drive............... And that's it, it doesn't go any farther than that So I removed the battery and reset the bios, no go, it still does the same thing I read somewhere that you can reflash the bios by putting it on a harddrive formatted with Fat16/Fat32, but that didn't work either, I did get "BIOS Auto-Recovering", but it sat there for some 2 hours without doing anythi

  3. KB = 1000 bytes MB = 1 million bytes GB = 1000 million bytes 5.25 disk (large, square, very FLOPPY) so-called because of its 5 and a quarter inch diameter of the readable/writable part. May be variously 360 KB (Apple II) or around 560 KB (Tandy 1000) or larger. Obsolete technology. 3.5 disk (smaller, square, made with hard plastic shell & mostly with a little metal door on the bottom plus a metal circle on the back) measuring 3.5" in diameter for readable/writable section. May have 720 KB or larger. Still used today in modern computers sometimes. Zip Disk (very large, somewhat res
  4. I have a Dell 4600 which CAN get on the internet. I had to reinstall XP completely on the Dell E520 from scratch. Is there a way to copy the connection files from one to the other? I have an external hard drive, a 2GB flash card, and can burn CDs on the 4600. So point me to where those files are hiding so I can copy 'em over. EDIT: I am downloading Windows XP Sp 3 from the official webpage. I'll see if this updates my SP 2 installation. Only 7 more hours to go!
  5. I get fed up with a massive virus attack on my XP bootable partiton. It won't let me load XP past the login screen. Anyway, my computer now has Ubuntu as the primary bootable partition. The good news is that I can run office & productivity games for Windows via this virtual machine for Linux I bought. The bad news is that I can't run Windows games that have intense 3D needs on this piece of software. I'll have to subscribe to Cedega to do that... so I guess I'm going cold-turkey on the darn computer games.. bah!

    Computer's dead.

To say I'm annoyed would be an understatement. I booted it up this morning, checked my email, checked for ICQ messages and everything was AOK. Went afk for a bath, and while in the bath there was, what sounded like someone firing an air rifle or gun So I got out of said bath, got dressed, went into the bedroom, smelt a god awful burnt plastic smell and realised the computer had died, heh After taking the thing apart, it seems like the powersupply has gone kaput, but not only that, it seems to have blown EVERYTHING attached to it There's black marks and melted plastic on BOTH harddrives
  7. If I have a fully patched KR in one of my computers, can I transfer this to my other computer (through a flash disk) or do I have to go through the process of downloading the client and making all the endless pathches?

And yes it IS a car bucket seat... in fact from a van... don't know anything more than that... And yeah I know bad pictures... ... and Be quiet Adam! Yes YOU Adam! =P I am NOT a redneck! Because I know what you will say SOON as you see this! ... Although husband says I am >_< But hey it was cheap and a durn good chair! -RMS Carpathia-
  9. This is kind of stupid but does your computer have anything to do with your lag in UO? At the moment I have an AMD that is over clocked and two 8800GT graphic cards in SLI with I think 2 GB ram. I got the computer about a year ago and I am going to give it to my little brother because he plays WoW and his computer sucks. But I am getting a i7 CPU and going to be running probably 12gb DDR3 1600/1866 ram and two 280's in SLI unless they come out with a newer one before I get them. Will this help with my lag or anything like that I don’t think that SLI helps game play but I am also thinking a

  20. Saturday, March 29, 2008 - by Michael Santo And people wonder why we sometimes look askance at the future of the human race. Internet griefers descended on an epilepsy support message board last weekend and used JavaScript code and flashing computer animation to trigger migraine headaches and seizures in some users. The nonprofit Epilepsy Foundation, which runs the forum, briefly closed the site Sunday to purge the offending messages and to boost security. "We are seeing people affected," says Ken Lowenberg, senior director of web and print publishing at the Epilepsy Foundation. "It's f

  22. ... and I'll tell you about console RPGs! First on the list: Dragon Warrior. In Japan this game franchise is called "Dragon Quest" or abbreviated "DraQue." This series was so populair that it was made illegal for Enix to release a new entry in the series on a school day owing to how many gamers will play hookie. In America, there was an RPG released by TSR called "Dragon Quest" which utilized the amazing technology of a board game and a VHS tape! So conversely, the Americanization of "Dragon Warrior" was born. Back in the day, RPGs on NES was such a new concept that to make it populair, N
