Before that's answered, how about this question... if it didn't give you and advantage, would you still use it?

No disrespect but in my eyes folks that are only concerend with the value of items are just as bad for the game as scriptors/cheaters...

I don't buy items... I get them through the challenges the game offers, or my guildmates trade me. I play the game not the economy...

Plus some kids are going around the world J and Silent Bob style knocking on cheaters doors and kicking them in the face.

AoS made UO a item game. Price on items is a part of the game.

I dont care about the prices thought - I got enough money anyway.

The in-game world has a set of rules/principles, just like reality. Sure you can mug people, or steal cars, or break into peoples homes, but it's still wrong. Even if you get away with it, it's still wrong. And please, don't read into this thinking that I'm comparing beating people and stealing their money to using UO cheats, I'm not. I'm saying either way, it's wrong. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. Yes, it is a game, but you're still abusing the system. Ultimately, it boils down to personal ethics and morals. It's that simple.

Since your not opening this thread I can happily say, my morals are definitly pro-do whatever to win.

There was a lot of talk about punkbuster being UO's anti-cheat engine (other EA games use). It seemingly works on the battlefield games, especially speed hacks and such, which is the majority of problems with 'uo cheating'. Scripting and such isn't exactly cheating because it doesn't really give you much of an advantage. Realistically it just allows you to watch your favorite movie while doing more complicated stuff. If this bothers you, go play wow. No wait, there are even more complicated scripting utilities like auto-it for WoW.

Punkbuster is the only answer for EA. It has been thier only answer for all of thier games. They are not Blizzard (whom will install spyware to catch the cheaters), they are about numbers and numbers only.

Lets face it, the real reason EA doesnt use punkbuster with UO:
There goes thier player base. No more 13$ a month subscriptions. The hard core players that get banned might get another account. Or they might just go to another game? I have been in UO for over 8 years and the only hack that makes a difference is Speed Hacking.

I kill people, I steal from people, I kill them again if needed and enjoy myself. Why.. its a game. Would I do it rl? Of course not.

Would I cheat in a game to do it? Of course not. Im too good for that Or was would be the right term. I never needed speedhack or no tree hacks to be topping the pvp when i played. Its those who lack their own confident of their own pvp skills that need it. Sad. Rather a good fight and lose, than a lame fight and win. IMO.

Punkbuster wouldnt stop what 80% of you are annoyed about. DUPING! . No program was ever needed to do this. Its just plain UO bugs.

Stump hacks always made me LoL, we messed around with some of the image file and turned all tures into GM's one night. Sadly it was only our side not server side so no one could see my masterwork
