Thread: Notes on killing Corgul the Soulbinder

Just sharing my notes from one successful kill with 4 people involved.

Rule 1: LEAVE YOUR DRAGONS HOME. This will be clarified in Rule 2.
Rule 2: Corpse skin! The Corgul that we killed had an average resist value of 88 points. That means that corpse skin moved its physical resist to 100 and its poison/fire resist to the low 70's.
Since we were 3 mages and a tamer, it worked for us.
Rule 3: Rune beetles are nice too. I love my beetle. It died a few times, but that was from lousy cross healing. The dragons were actually harder to keep alive than the beetle. I can't figure that one out.
Rule 4: Cross heal. Yes, it's part of all of my guides, but it always bears repeating.
Rule 5: Melee with fire based weapon (or consecrated), armor ignore and mana leech beat everything else there. Seriously, everything.

Template suggestions:
Mystic warrior
Sampire
Necro-mage
Archer (ABC)

But any template, if played well, can help out.

Thanks for this info! Other questions:

1 - Special attacks: What sort of nasty surprises will we encounter? Ooze, ranged, magic, poison, slow, etc...
2 - Total hit points: Did one of your tamers manage to get a look at him just before he died, with low enough hp to read the denominator?
3 - Dispel: Is he auto-dispelling RCs and EVs?

If you hit him, or if your pets hit him, he will most likely teleport you to him.

I think he was doing bleed attacks, and lots of magic.

He doesnt auto dispel.

if u log off at corgul you will not get moved
so you dont need to go IN with the party..
you can stay INSIDE forever...
but you WILL get a drop

our good friend Spert is abusing the system...

so maybe the Devs can make people lose connection if they do that.

You can find the island without a map it's not a party thing, in fact it's set up as a Champ spawn due to in tram you can get SoT's, although I've not heard on PS's in Fel.

As for people staying there, If they want to stay there it's there choice as far as I know it's not stopping corgul from respawning.

Let's not attack people for playing the game.

Besides, Spert can join in my reindeer games any-time, any-place.

Not much different than say... everyone else, except I learn more from Spert.

Now the question is, why were we kicked from the island? But I'm sure Spert will answer that when I see him. He's very helpful to those who ask.

Anyhow, back to responses about Corgul.
Specials: bleed, teleporting you to him, hitting like a truck, an earthquakish attack with a special animation (I'll call it a tsunami attack from now on) which hits for about 2-3 wither's worth of damage (about a third of my tamer's life).

And target switching, I think it switches to the person who has done the most damage against it in the last minute or so, but need more data to prove it.

He isn't easy, but not exceptionally difficult either. At least not after you figure out how to damage him.

Va'lis and Uriel had rising colossus' on it most of the time.

The biggest problem was getting a clear side to set up the rising colossus to not attack the oranges, I'd like to see a pair of x-healing chiv swords warriors with soul seekers tank it I know they could, and could probably beat it.

Next time we do it we should try something like that mystic chiv swords would probably be epic.

Ill be interested to see how a sampire tanks against it. (Totally went and changed skills on a char for it)

My sampire account isn't upgraded, otherwise I'd have been there already.

And adding "vampire" to a fae (my bushido/swordsman) wouldn't be handy.

I imagine that a sampire with armor ignore would be the perfect tank against it.
