So.....I could consider myself to be one of the originals of Ultima Online...and tbh....I don't even know why I am back here making this post or putting in the effort in the first place. It is probably an innocent rant more than anything...kek.

All sarcasm aside...I watched the big BlizzCon 2017 announcement last week, and was shocked to see Blizzard is bringing back vanilla legacy servers.

While much of the anticipation is going to be built on nostalgia and rose tinted glasses, I really started thinking about Ultima's golden days. And if it would ever be outside the realm of possibilities to ever see the dev team consider and be granted approval to something similar of what is about to take place at Blizzard.

I know its buried, dead and gone, but to see an officially ran version of UO from 97'- Second Age, and possibly a version of UO:R would be wishful and hopeless thinking at best, but I guess they said that same thing with vanilla WoW.

I doubt it'll make much difference, as EA is a totally different animal compared to Blizzard, but if someone has a link to the petition "Make Ultima Online Great Again", or if someone is considering making another, as the URL from the previous petition from Jan. 2017 looks deleted, please share it.

Back when Cal was running things, they actually looked into putting a team together to recreate an old legacy server.  The problem is, everyone has their own unique idea what a legacy server is and if they did release one, you'd just get the player base bitching that they screwed up by including this and not including that and so on and so forth.  It is a no win proposition for them.
