Explain.

Mythic's primary purpose was mobile.  U4E... fell short of expectations.  The bigger issue was the fiasco that was Dungeon Keeper Mobile.  EA has basically said they are moving their mobile to 'other studios', which can be read as Mythic wasn't making the grade.

Think the bottom line is, they are going to keep the studios that make real AAA $$$, fool around with mobile until it either finds a new cash cow or fails, and get rid of everything else.  They divested of UO and DAoC in February, so there was no need to keep Mythic around for that.  Pretty much everything Mythic did once acquired by EA was either flat or a flop.

I still say they got rid of the wrong people, but one of them no longer works for them (directly, at least), and the other one must be treading ultra-carefully on a wet paper towel bridge.  I don't think the blood-letting is over just yet.

To paraphrase a different website, UO is pretty much the most resilient MMO in the business - no matter how EA and all of its' minions have tried to kill it, they just can't seem to get that job done.

Perhaps they should rename it to UO-Z?
