Hi Everyone,

I haven't played UO for 10 years and only just got back into it.

I have a few questions since I can't remember the game play that well and Im having trouble finding answers to my questsions just on google. Hopefully you guys can help me.

First question - How do I get bags? Do I buy them somewhere or do I have to make them?

Second question - I am having a lot of trouble with quests. I am in Britania and every quest giver I go to doesn't give me quests.

Third Question - Maps. I don't remember much outside of Britanias main city. Is there a site that is avaliable that shows me maps? How do I know where to go for quests that require me to go to another town.

Thank you, Hope you guys can help me

:)

Hi Vanillapeaches. Welcome back! What shard do you play?

To answer your questions, I believe you can buy bags from Provisioners.

For your second question, what sort of quests are you trying to do? Are you on a trial account or did you recover your old account? I have noticed that the current events (protestors and rioters) interfere with escort quests from affected cities. If you go to cities that are unaffected by these protests, you should have better luck. Unaffected cities are Cove, Nu'Jelm, and Serpent's Hold. There's a new publish coming up, however, so it might fix things with the quests. We shall see.

Third, for maps I use the maps section of Stratics:

UO Stratics *New* | Maps and Locations

Finally, just a few things I usually tell returning players. Malas Luna is where players congregate these days so if you are looking for other players, that is the place to start with. Also, I recommend checking out your shard's EM Program. I'm pretty sure they all have sites. I know Pacific's is Pacific

Mind you, most of these EM Events are for experienced characters, but you can tag along if you want to see what's going on. Just hang back and watch the fireworks if your character isn't fully trained yet.

how to start quests have changed over the years, instead of single clicking and selecting talk, you just need to double click the npc to start the quest dialogue. The older quests like the hag and the ant quests are still started the old way. Hope that helps.

ANNNNNNNNNNNND don't forget the new player quests in New Haven. If you are on Pacific look up anyone in the RP Alliance and we will get u going again. I have a runebook full of housing locations and a "fund" for returning players. Good luck!

For maps, use Ultima Mapper | Player Tracking Refined which is a mapper program, which will even track you if you have UOAssist or use the EC.

I have not looked it up but I guess Lord Chaos mentioned software that is officially approved:
http://www.uoforums....-uo-mapper.html

The link on the UOHerald to the official list of approved third party software for UO leads to some generic useless EA help center. A minute ago I almost broke my keyboard into tiny little pieces in anger - when I tried to be helpful: I tried to get you the link to the official current list of approved software. A link that should be foud on the UO Herald (official website). I really hate links to generic useless help centers.

Can you fix that please, Lord Chaos?

Welcome back, you're story is a bit like mine. :)

(this part might be confusing, not sure what point you left or what quest you handled--I actually had to experience it to understand it.)
There are two quest engines in the game...one is really old and handles quests like the daemon bone (doom) naturalist/ant quests etc. Quests such as those only allow you to have one of them at a time so if you have say the daemon bone collection one...you wouldn't be able to pick up the ant quest. If it tells you that you seem busy with another task...this is the old engine. I'm not sure if it works like this in Classic Client...as I am using Enhanced Client now (which I highly recommend you get after you get settled in a bit) but if you're in Enhanced Client you can click on yourself and from the menu there is a "Cancel Quest" option. This works for quests NOT in your quest log because they are handled by the old quest engine. (If somebody can explain this better please do lol.)

When I returned I found it easier to use Classic Client first...because I remembered it. Then after a couple weeks I tried Enhanced Client. --huge difference in game play!- If you've been gaming elsewhere you'll find the EC interface to be much more up to speed. It also has a map/radar that is so much better than the tiny radar you get with Classic. There are tons of nice features. Sadly, it doesn't run smoothly for everybody....BUT you can have both clients on your computer.

I think I missed what server you're on? If you happen to be on Catskills let me know. :)

I just returned to the game as well. I should have written a book on all the commands to memorize before returning haha.

I am really interested in getting back into the game as well on Chesapeake - I don't know if helper guilds still exist in Ultima Online but if there are guilds like that out there I would love to join and get familair with the game again.

Start in Haven. That's where all your basic questing begins until about 60's skills if you're a combatant.

If you're a crafter just go out into Sosaria and start gathering.

You can buy bags right from the provisioner in luna. The luna bank has all important vendors right inside of it on the outer edges of the bank on the lower floor.

Basically, stick to Luna and Haven for now. You should have no problem meeting friends and finding things to do.
