Rather than just having the house sign say what stage of decay an idoc is in, I think a decaying house should start burning (fire field graphic on random tiles of the house). Each stage of decay will have progressively more flames, until the IDOC phase, in which most of the house is consumed in flame before finally falling.

The flames would damage you like regular fire fields as well as radiate a heat field like a phoenix, making it more difficult for people to sit inside a public idoc to camp it.

It might make moving house more difficult after the initial stages of decay, but it should encourage you to not let your house go into decay.

Maybe have fire elementals randomly spawn around the house once it hits IDOC too?

... it's pronounced 'fel-ookah', not 'fel-oosha' ...

hehe.. definitely sounds fun!

when a house goes into IDOC mode, is it reversible? ... how long does this IDOC period last?

also, maybe the owner of an IDOC home should be able to use buckets of water to extinguish the flames to save the house.

i've never witnessed an IDOC before...

When it actually hits "In Danger of Collapsing" the only way to reverse it is to trade the house to someone else. There is no other way.

I like the ideas though!
