In the description of the honor virtue, it says it gives "a damage bonus to melee combat", is this counted tagainst the DI cap? And do you have to do anything once you have gained in horor to get the damage increase, or is it always active?

Ok, I am not exactly sure what you are asking here, but I will give you a rundown of how honor works. Unless you have bushido, honor will only do you good in the form of honoring yourself so you can walk amung monsters and they will not flag on you. Now with bushido, you honor a fully healed up monster, and you will start gaining in perfection. With each hit you gain in perfection until you miss, then you lose it. Once you gain perfection, your hits will do more damage, separate from the DI you possess. If you throw in lightning strikes which will give you a 50% HCI bonus, you will also get a chance at a critical strike, which can be in the hundreds of hp damage. You must invoke the virtue to use it. What I did is setup a macro for honor, and before I attack something, just use it. I hope that helps with whatever you are trying to ask.

Hmm..Learn something new everyday. The only time I ever honor myself was to walk across that slow sand to get to dreadhorn, cause I hate the place to begin with, but having 3 changlings change into me sucks bad...

Cool thanks, it looks like the stratics info on honor is a little outdated. 1 more question... How much bushido do you need to have to use honor in this fashion?

you only need .1 to see perfectiong gains, for using lightning strikes, you gotta be 50.

As I recall you gain one level of Perfection every time you hit your target, but lose 3 levels every time you miss... and level 10 is maximum.

Then there's the thing about Perfection acting as Luck when the monster dies... every level of Perfection equaling 100 luck, full Perfection giving 1000 luck. Personally I've never seen this actually confirmed anywhere so if anyone can point to a dev statement, that'd be great.

Ive always heard that you get 100 luck per 10 points of bushido when honoring the creature. This could have just been rumor or hearsay, but its what I was told...

That's a rumor I've never seen/heard. But sounds like something I'd start.
