I am currently leafing through the character map to try to find those exact symbols, and then hoping that Google Translate will have a way to translate them for me.

But if someone actually can read this, then maybe you can clue me in on what Maria said?

Thanks very much!

I think she's telling you that she has a house near yours.

Its Japanese, not Arabic.

すがい - sugai, which is like neat or cool

わたし - watashi, which means I, or Me (refers to self)

わ - wa, just a part of a sentence

どこ - doko - where - interrogative, asking you where something

です - desu - am, is, etc

すがい、わたしわどこです
Sugai watashi wa dokodesu
Cool, this is where I am

sort of maybe.

... it's pronounced 'fel-ookah', not 'fel-oosha' ...

For future reference, Arabic doesn't look anything like that. To use a nerdish reference, Arabic looks a bit more like the writing on the one ring from the LotR movies.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, the message is not clear. Perhaps it has a different meaning. Google Translate came up with this: "The town is where I'll"

Obviously, missing the subject. If that's even close to what she was trying to say, of course.
I know a lady from Japan, I'll ask her if she can make any sense of it.

Thanks for trying, though.
