No longer ignoring anyone? It would be nice for events if the ignore feature were quicker and easier to use. :D

All in all, I like it! I'm curious to see what existing lands look like. How different do they look from both the 2d and KR client. Also, I'd like to see the character's different stances and see what they look like mounted. I didn't really like the KR look to characters. They looked more cartoonish while 2d looked more natural and realistic. Paricularly mounted KR characters. Their legs looked like horse shoes custom made to fit the mount.

Now it'd be nice if UOherald were actually working, so we can actually watch these screenshots QM talks about...

EDIT: Of course the moment I retry after writing this post, it works! :reye

I do like the looks and I do like that it does not look too far from KR ;)

But what do we gather from these new screenshots?
  • New Monsters: Rotworms, new types of spiders
  • new furniture
  • new UI style (stony, gargish kind)
  • That palace seems to have at least 4 levels - am I wrong or is that more than any existing building in UO? Do you think there were fundamental changes to the code needed to do this? And if: what implications does that have?
  • Orange is a new colour for slimes
  • Ter Mur has an awful lot of holes into the void...

Given the way the Void supposedly works, Malas could actually be part of Ter Mur, and yet be as unreachable as either of the moons...

I hope it works like KR ;) giving us grid view, list view AND the old free form view (what a lot of 2d players don't seem to know...).

What do you mean by that, Corvak?
Aside from the option to toggle between grid, list and freeform, are there significant differences with 2D? :huh

In KR, you either use the grid style, or you can set it like the 2D client. However, in KR, doing that results in ridiculously large inventory gumps.

err... not sure if that's what you mean, but in KR you can resize the UI and thus the backpacks (user settings -> interface -> UI Scale).

I *do* agree with Corvak that backpacks are relatively large, but with the UI scaling (I think everything is too large in the GUI anyway) set to about 80% they are quite manageable =)

I quite like the KR backpacks in the grid view - once you have adjusted the UI scale. I run mine at 0.75 and it looks fine like that. I think its much easier to manage having all your items in your backpack organised in the grid view this way than in the chaos of the free form view as in 2D, especially whn you are carrying lots of different things

Inventory chaos was trying to get something good off the Crimson Corpse.
A Pack of Hyenas would be embarrassed by that mad rush.

Looting has always been a sucking point in regards to UO. Most newer games have implemented rolling systems to eliminate the hyena factor.

Regardless of size settings, the items in the backpack, grid or no, are very difficult to distinguish and not very detailed (ie: runebook colors are really hard to tell apart). I like the grid, but prefer 2D graphics.
