My scoundrel has been out an about stealing stuff from vendors in vain attempt at increasing lockpicking & stealing skills. While doing so he noticed that all the tailor shops have red & green cloth now. Nice little touch!

I wonder if anyone else has seen these kind of things?

Coincidence? Or funny that the devs have time to code stuff like this?

Would something like that be coded, or just someone running around (Mythic or not) with a couple of dye tubs?

I'd rather they fix Escort quests or the GM-labeling problem with Cooking first, hell, just get the Publish out a bit sooner!

If you're talking about the bolts of cloth on the wall, that was likely a player. I love it when people do stuff like that!

If you're talking about vendor items, that was probably a dev taking 30 seconds to change a global variable.

Just a motivated player, then. I bet it was Mum!

I always enjoy seeing people do things like that. Every now and then I'll stumble across a tailorshop with all black cloth, or a red, white & blue motif. One St. Patrick's Day, someone was dying everything green and orange.

This is what makes UO the longest lived MMO ever: a player's ability to affect the world.

Try it for yourself. Head to your favorite tailor shop with a dye tub full of pretty colors. You can target all of the cloth in the room (not the clothes they're wearing, though).

Back in the day (maybe 9, 10 years ago), the cloth that decorated the tailor shops matched what the NPC's were wearing. When killing blues didn't give murder counts, people would kill the NPC escorts to take their clothes. Cutting up the clothes gave you cloth that matched the NPC vendor cloth in the shops. The shades were slightly different than anything you could dye. The cloth colors in the shops would change every few weeks at server-up.

Ahh, the days when people actually wore clothes and not just l33t uber gear...
