I have seen Gandalf running around Britian in Cats. Maybe we can ask him?

No, not unless he can prove he's got LotR powers.

;)

If you folks recall correctly, we had a Regent on Catskills [Cort Malic / EM Stone] whose name I recently re-discovered after losing some really cool screenshots [detailed event dialogue, ect] I had.

Haven't met our new EM yet, but some person is trying to sell a "Greetings from EM Kasaven" sash for over 8 million gold.

I no longer buy things from their vendors.

Don't care who owns the vendor, that's just wrong!

back on topic now, hopefully someone steps in and takes control of the kingdom(s).

Well I for one think the King will return.

In every game of Ultima I have ever played if you can pick a fight with the king he would wipe the floor with you unless you could destroy the entire world, and that is what it would take to destroy him.

So to all you disbelivers :P:P:P:P

Bit of a invasion-related pet peeve: if you're going to farm generals with your buddies, could you please stick around and kill the Crimson Dragon? I realize the loot isn't great and it takes an extra 15 minutes to do it, but right now Chessy is stuck in that annoying limbo where 3 towns are inaccessible due to the invasion, but without the perk of being able to kill invaders for good drops. And it seems to be this way at least half the time, where there are no invaders left, just the dragon...

Or maybe it'd be nice if the dragon were to automatically despawn after a certain period of time if it isn't killed...

Or if it isn't killed in a certain amount of time have it restart the invasion

The same 3 towns that were populated only with a crimson dragon and a bunch of non-interacting NPCs are *still* in that state now, 3 days later...*grumbles*.

You would think, considering the multitude of very ambitious Britannians amongst us; that someone by now (aside from Blackthorne) would be making some claim for the crown. The Counsel currently rules in Lord British's absense (under the assumption that he still lives and may yet come to claim his crown); but you would think that there would be this constantly evolving storyline. Calls by the peasantry to name Dawn the Queen. Baron Lenshire makes his own claim based on some convuluted genealogy implying a distant bloodlink between himself and King Wolfgang. So on and so fourth.

How very prophetic of you!

Lord Casca is quite clearly the stand-in for Lord Blackthorn, who - as mentioned earlier in the thread - was killed off in UO for the sake of a rather meaningless event. Nevertheless, he's a well executed stand-in; full of ambition and cunning, and so far as I can see, not wholely evil, if at all. All in all, I'm mightily impressed by the current writing team.

And perhaps that's where things begin unraveling... After all, Blackthorn was originally British's most trusted confidant correct? I can see Casca quite easily succumbing to Blackthorn's philosophical rationale. Perhaps we may see Blackthorn "reborn" in some manner.
