I'm so not hip with what's cool with the cool kids these days... I just got this ring off of a pup. Is it worth anything?

FC 3/1
Necro +12
Dex bonus 3
DI 13%

I know the FC 3/1 is nice but do the other mods make it anything special?

Thx!

I don't think it's worth much. The 1/3 is nice, everything else on it is sub-par.

Then again I'm extremely picky about loot and don't even run a shop, so to me about 90% of stuff is garbage.

It's worth a bit.

A common template is the necro-chiv-warrior, and that ring has everything in the right direction for one of these characters to use. Granted, since the damage increase and dex bonus are low intensity, you couldn't ask for top dollar for this ring, I can guarantee that someone who want to try the template-du-jour would love to have a ring just like that one.

I couldn't put a price on it myself, as I'm not a merchant. But I'm sure that you could sell it.

I'd guess 1+ mill. As Farsight said, a necro dexxer could make very good use of a ring like that, assuming they have enough hci/dci in their suit/shield that they didn't need more.

Generally, any 3/1 ring is more valuable than a 3/1 bracelet because a lot of people use the Orny for a bracelet, and then either a 3/1 ring, a 3 fcr ring, or a ecru citrine ring that somehow has 3 fcr ;P. Depends on build.

For example:

FC 3/1
Necro +12
Dex bonus 3
DI 13%

This ring might be useful to a guy who is a Staff necro mage, because the DI and Dex will make the staff do more damage, but then the extra 12 necro might not be used...for a staff mage.

In that case, maybe it will be more valuable when (if) they ever make it so dexxers need to have skill jewelry on at all times to keep up Vampiric Embrace?

thanks all! this is very helpful to me in understanding how to fit jewels into some of these other templates. (i'm strictly pvm and have never done necro or spellweaving or really any of those newer skills!)

Honestly jewelry always has and always will be one of those tricky markets. It all depends on a characters template and what needs they have for a piece of jewelry. As far as a rough guestimation though I would put it at....

Low end - 250k
High end - 1.5 Mil

All in all it just depends on how much it's worth to the buyer. You could get more or less depending on the persons needs.

Kinda like in real life, the laws of supply and demand apply in UO as well. For example the average going rate of an Xbox 360 when they first game out was around $400 for just a basic unit. My person demand for the object wasn't in the $400 range so I didn't get one. However now that it's down to $199 I may consider purchasing one cause it is worth that to me, wasn't worth 400 to me but 199 seems more fair.

Kinda like an Orni, the average selling price of them (Pre the Doom drop changes) were about 40 Mil and that wasn't so much out of my price range but not really worth that much to me since they are still getable not like I would never be able to get one myself if I just wasted the time. Then the changes get put in place and they are a bit easier to get and they have dropped all the way down to about 16 mil if you find them in the right places. That is Fair in my opinion to save me the time I would waste in Doom :).

It's all about the players personal need for an item. If I really need something to accomplish a goal I'm after I would be more willing to over pay for an item then I would if I just wanted the item.
