"Can we get more red healers in Felucca?"

Yes! We had a bit of extra space since we rearranged the schedule for this publish, so we've tweaked the spawn rate for Priests of Mondain in Felucca upwards - specifically, they should spawn more often around moongates.

--

"Why did I get a suspension for having a link to a website in my profile?"

First, the relevent bit from the Rules of Conduct:

"With the exception of the sale of in-game items for in-game items or services, you may not market, promote or advertise anything, or make any other form of solicitation (including pyramid schemes and chain letters) through the Ultima Online service or Ultima Online web site."

This isn’t a blanket ban on links - links to guild websites may be just fine, for example - but most sites advertise, promote, or market something - even if it’s just running banner ads. Your safest bet is to avoid bringing the outside world into UO - if you have a website that’s UO-related (and not entirely about making someone a profit) - by all means submit it for inclusion in the fansite section of the FoF! (Remember, email jdalberg AT ea DOT com, and I'm happy to take guild recruitment ads and stuff too. Just make sure you proofread your copy, because I will only give it a quick once-over when I post it!)

Thieves' Guild Bug Update

While we still haven't actually reproduced the bug, we found a bit of related code that definitely wasn't supposed to be there and we're reverting it out in Publish 56 - for everyone having trouble joining the guild, we eagerly await your reports once this publish goes live.

QA Request of the Week

QA has seen some complaints that plants don't always behave as intended - sometimes they lose health or die suddenly even when they're being properly taken care of - and they would love to see some detailed reports from people who've experienced the problem. Please include things like what the expected result was, what the actual result was, what kind of seed was used, whether fertile dirt was used, and as many other details as could possibly be relevant. Thanks!

--

What's To Come:

We're finalizing all the goodness for next week's Town Hall, and working hard at getting Publish 56 to you shortly thereafter. If you're remotely in range of Seattle, I strongly advise you to show up!

--

Town Hall News:

If you make one Town Hall this year, make this one! Check out the details here and please do RSVP.

Ah, well, now we know why people are crying over there not being enough red healers in Fel. :) Glad to see you haven't lost your touch.

Now if only they'd answer your question for FoF of: "Can we get more Blues in Fel?" things would get better. I hope they take my suggestion of randomly transporting players using Blue Moongates into Fel and restricting blues from recalling/gating out unless they are ghosts.

It'd add a little bit of risk to instantly getting to where you want to go, and definately make things interesting.

No cookies for you and you!!!

Not a 'good' idea for those who are not 'into' fighting ...
would rather have a 'purple' gate that we can step into and become 'neutral' so we can go help as clerics/first aiders for both sides .... (red+blue=PURPLE) :)

It'd take less than a week for the murderer's to find out all the locations the moongate was programed to teleport ppl to and they'd camp them out.
If fellucians want more blues to visit fel they could always stop ganking them.
there is a different between pvp and murder. Or is that the reason they want them to come?So they can kill people who don't have much experience in fighting other players?

I think you miss the point...no they don't have to learn ever.

Although many of us enjoy a bit of PvP the majority of players in the industry of online gaming don't care for it. I guarantee you if you started something like that, within months people would start leaving even more.

The reason many people play UO that never did is because they don't have to run around in gankerville with all the little kiddies trying to prove they really did at some point go through puberty.

As said previously, if it was real skill and not a bunch of cheaters, or it wasn't a bunch of people camping areas in wait it might be more appealing to everyone.

Haha, that was a joke.

Yeah, if they got rid of cheaters then it'd probably make PvP a little more appealing to those that turn their backs to it.

You GO! Queen Mum!,

Wanting to get blues into Fel and not getting ganked is changing the prevelent mentality there. But I would definitely go if I was "purpled". AND, if I met decent peeps in fel, I would probably come back as blue...and not be stealthing.

Any way to create "community" is a good thing.

Yes, I miss there being one world instead of two. I generally don't go to Felucca because the average IQ is 12 and that about matches the maturity level.

I miss days when PvP wasn't about bragging because you have nothing in real life to brag about, and it wasn't something everyone else avoided because there was no way to win.

I remember going to shame with 4 friends and standing in the dungeon just on the top floor quite far from the entrance and all of a sudden, 6 reds appeared around us (they had been standing there hidden). They slaughtered us, but it was hilarious and exciting.

Now it is just a chore. I think they should just do away with Felucca altogether since they can't keep people from cheating or griefing.

I think that may be part of the problem though (lack of blues in Fel). Maybe if there were more people in general in Fel it wouldn't be such a gankfest, as there would be a ready supply of people to fight as opposed to how it is now, where you're lucky to run across anyone to fight.

Could be, but I would guess it would just be less likely to be ganked because all the kiddies would be busy ganking others and today wasn't your day.

Besides, can't all the reds just kill eachother?

They do, but even then it's more about variety. You can only kill the same person over and over before you want different competition.

I've come across (a small amount, albeit) some reds that won't KOS, and will actually open up a convo before the first flamestrike/arrow/swing was sent.
