hey guys, sadly I'm gonna miss this as I have to go to a wedding in New Braunfels. BUT it's just down the road from Austin and IF the afternoon river tubing gets cancelled due to flood surge from the hurricane I might just pop in for the Town Hall meeting! Save me a beer!

** Austin Town Hall News UPDATE**

Posted Image
Posted by Jeremy Dalberg 10 Sep 2008 15:04:42

Due to Hurricane Ike and the potential for severe weather and flooding in Austin this weekend, there is a possibility we will need to cancel the Town Hall in order to ensure the safety of our players and developers. We will be watching the weather situation and should have a final determination by 3:00PM EDT tomorrow.

I hope they don't have to cancel it. I would understand people not wanting to fly in with the weather tho.

Austin Town Hall Canceled
Jeremy Dalberg
10 Sep 2008 18:03:02

UPDATED 6:00PM EDT: The hurricane looks right on track for Austin, so we will be cancelling the Town Hall. Apologies to everyone who was looking forward to it - I was too! - and if you're local, take care of yourselves during the severe weather.

This was gonna be my first town hall. :'(
Oh well, since I have something else planned in Austin for that evening, I am still going! If anyone else is going to be around, shoot me a PM and maybe we can meet up?

Well, I won't be going to Austin. I was really looking forward to it!

I have a new job for two days though... I'll be an American Red Cross volunteer greeter at the Port of San Antonio, Texas to evacuees from the Gulf Coast. No, the Port does not have a dock (so no fishing), but has an airport, rail-port, and a huge area for buses and cars to process into the emergency shelters in San Antonio.

Local forecasters talk about Hurricane Ike's "Windfield" and how far it reaches. No, that's not me traveling around in circles!
