Marc and Hideko had been at sea for almost a year now. Both where starting to get stir crazy. At night Hideko could hear Marc mumbling in his sleep. Marc had been having weird dream, but couldn’t quite figure out what they meant. Marc stood at the helm. Hideko was up in the nest watching for land. Finally, Hideko saw an island come up over the horizon. As they got closer, Hideko recognized that it was the Island of Ice.
“It is the Island of Ice!” Hideko yelled down to Marc.
Marc grinned. A sense of relief came over him. “We are near Moonglow then. We will dock there.”
Hideko scurried out of the nest and got on the deck.
“Prep my horse. As soon as we dock, we head straight for the moon gate and to the Shadowlands. We will leave the ship at the docks, and return to get it later. I want no issues or conflicts.”
Hideko went to Marc’s horse and began to prep it. Marc looked up at the sky and saw it was clear and sunny. The ring began to glow and dark clouds began to form above him. Marc decided it was a good idea to go in with cover. Marc didn’t know if the council had been alerted of his return. The seas became a little rough, but was nothing he couldn’t handle. A thick fog began to surround the ship concealing it.
The people in Moonglow where enjoying a wonderful sunny day in town. Business was carrying on as usual. One of the town guardsmen was on the pier. Suddenly a cool breeze swept across his skin. He turned and looked as he saw the strange storm coming closer. People in the streets stopped what they where doing and stared at the storm. Something just didn’t feel right. It felt like a great evil. The fog was at the edge of town. People screamed and began to scurry to the nearest indoors. Slowly the town of Moonglow disappeared in the fog.
The guardsmen stood his position at the piers. In the fog he could make out a shadow. It was a ship. He could barely see the flag but recognized it as the colors of Vesper Trading Company. As the ship began to dock, the guardsmen ran to the prison to let the captain of the guards know.
Hideko dropped anchor and dropped the plank to the dock. Marc mounted his horse and Hideko changed into wolf form. They disembarked the ship and headed into town. There was no one in the streets. The Captain of the guards man walked slowly down one of the streets towards the piers. In the distance he could hear hooves on the road. He stopped and drew his sword. Suddenly in the thick fog a shadow broke through. Marc saw the guard and shifted to the side. As he passed the guard he kicked him in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground. Hideko right next to Marc, jumped on the guard laying on the ground about ready to tear him open.
“Wait!” Marc yelled. “Today guardsmen you will live. I am Marc Anthony of the VTC. Let your precious council know I have returned. If you should come across my path again, you won’t be so lucky. Hideko, come!”
Marc and Hideko disappeared in the fog again. They headed straight for the moon gate. They made it with no problems.
After a bit of traveling, they finally came to the walls of the orc fort where the Shadowlands lie. Marc and Hideko approached the guild house. Marc opened the door to the house. Cressida and Mariah where there chatting.
Marc grinned. “I am home! And I have completed my mission.”
Mariah grinned “Welcome ye back mate!”
Marc and Hideko entered and closed the door.
