  1. Turbine has the north american press release up on the LOTRO site. The Lord of the Rings Online?: Siege of Mirkwood? | The Lord of the Rings Online So what are your thoughts on this? Rumor has it that it'll be $19.99 and digital purchase only. My guess is that it's roughly half of what MoM was, in terms of price and content.
  2. North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has issued a special pardon to two detained US journalists, the country's state news agency reports. Laura Ling and Euna Lee had been found guilty of entering illegally in March. The news comes on the day that former US President Bill Clinton made a surprise visit to Pyongyang on what was described as a private mission. Mr Clinton is the highest-profile American to visit since ex-secretary of state Madeleine Albright in 2000. "Kim Jong-il issued an order... granting a special pardon to the two American journalists who had been sentenced to hard labour,"
  3. I'm sure this thread will be more useful after we've gotten involved in our plans in Minoc. Basically to start it off, here's the situation as I see it; Trinsic are sending a "Peacekeeping" force to make daily visits to the City of Minoc to make sure the conflicts of Yew, Cove and Vesper do not overspill into the peaceful lands. They will also make Minoc safe for the peaceful citizens of the surrounding cities to come and keep safe from the conflict, setting up healing stations, food/water stations, and camps for those made homeless from the war. Also at a later date, the Knights Templar
  4. Source - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8104709.stm North Korea warns of retaliation North Korea has been angered by tougher UN sanctions North Korea has threatened a "thousand-fold" military retaliation against the US and its allies if it is provoked. The warning, carried by state media, came after US President Barack Obama said that a nuclear-armed North Korea posed a "grave threat" to the world. At a news conference with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, Mr Obama said the US would "vigorously" pursue an end to North Korea's nuclear programme. North Korea has r
  5. North Korea's leader Kim Jong-il has designated his youngest son to be the country's next leader, according to reports in South Korean media. Two newspapers and an opposition lawmaker said South Korea's spy agency had briefed legislators on the move. North Korean officials were reportedly told to support Kim Jong-un after the North's 25 May nuclear test. There has been much speculation over who would follow Mr Kim, who is thought to have suffered a stroke last year. Analysts have said the North's recent military actions, including last week's nuclear test, may have been aimed at helping Mr
  6. This evening I decided to lead a patrol of the north coast, following reports of shipwrecks in the south.! We first found an increase in activity of sea creatures, including a dolphin being harrased by a Serpant. Further along the coast we found the inevitable remains of another ship, its contents had spilled onto the shoreline along with some interesting items.! Picking up what we could we headed back to the Barracks to get out of the rain and discuss our find. We decided that the items lead to someone from Trinsic being on a ship and getting caught up in the storm.! Pickles and I t
  7. Sak Teb is the name given to the volcanic badlands north of Papua and it is quite an interesting area. The arid stretch of land north of Beggar's Gorge could technically be termed an island. It is curious, however, that it is so arid while southern Ansaria is covered with lush vegetation. Why does Beggar's Gorge present such a dramatic climate line, particularly when this region is surrounded by the largest body of water on Ansaria. The arctic region of Ansaria lies just north, so I thought perhaps this region was devoid of vegetation because of the cold, but the plant life in the region s

  9. My family and I are planning a move to North Carolina (from Ohio)in the near future (within the next 2-3 months, the sooner, the better.) We are leaning toward the Charlotte area, or a bit north, maybe near Lake Norman. I was wondering if any of the readers here live in or have lived in NC, and what they know about the hospitals in the area. My wife is an RN, and will be looking for a position in a hospital there, but we all know what the company websites say: "We're the best, yada yada yada..." What we would really like to know is the REAL perception of the hospitals you know of. Which
  10. Reports have been confirmed that War ships to the North of Homare-Jima have been moving supplies and troops to the South side of the Island. It appears that Okimoto has been trading supplies to the Yomotsu warriors. This does not bode well for the City of PaxOku, as if an already speculated alliance between the Ronin and the Yomotsu warriors seem to be forming. Citizens should be urged to stay to the City limits and within close proximity of town Guards when all possible. Here are but a few hastily done drawings by one of PaxOku's covert operatives:

  12. PROLOGUE Crypt Keeper stifled a yawn as he opened the door to his office and entered. He had to admit that he was happy to be doing work again but he sure wasn’t used to getting up early. He set to work brewing some tea and as soon as that was under way he slide behind his desk and started shuffling through notes and letters among other things. He had been out of the office for a while and it showed! As he looked through the pile of papers one sealed note caught his attention, it was addressed not to him or his branch office, it only said “Paxlair City” in elegant writing on the front. He

  15. Damn, imagine all that going up in a big explosion? Ship drifts towards North Sea rig People evacuated from the platform were taken to nearby rigs A 4,500-tonne cargo ship is adrift without power in the North Sea and heading towards a gas platform. Two RAF helicopters were scrambled from Wattisham and Leconfield to airlift 20 people from the Murdoch rig 80 miles east of Flamborough Head. Helicopters are ready to
  16. What's people's thoughts on North Korea and the possbility of them building a nuclear weapon? Do you think the US and it's allies should invade? Or do you think there can be a diplomatic solution to the crisis?
  17. Uh oh North Korea claims nuclear test There was concern among South Koreans at the news North Korea says it has carried out its first test of a nuclear weapon, the state news agency (KCNA) has reported. It said the underground test, carried out in defiance of international warnings, was a success and had not resulted in any leak of radiation. The White House said South Korean and US intelligence had detected a se
  18. Uh oh. Meltdown: Ice Cracks at North Pole By Sara Goudarzi LiveScience Staff Writer posted: 20 September 2006 02:22 pm ET Satellite images of the Arctic show large openings in the perennial ice cover, yet another consequence of greenhouse warming, scientists announced this week. The Arctic's thick perennial sea ice typically survives the warmth of the summer and lasts through the year. But satellite images taken in late August show that up to 10 percent of the perennial sea ice has
