  1. Thanks so much! I appreciate the info and advice!
  2. Hi! Returning again after a long hiatus. Was a regular player back in 1997-2001. Re-subbed again in 2015, but just couldn't make the time to relearn everything. Now, I'm trying again. I plan on starting a new character and I have all expansions up through High Seas. My question is, with a brand new character will buying the newest expansion, Time of Legends, be of any use to me?
  3. ... and how do I get rid of them? Here's a picture of them: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0J8HD8s4RFRSWhCbXRmSEdlMDQ/view?usp=sharing
  4. Hi, all! I'm getting back into UO after a very long hiatus. I have all the expansions up to High Seas. My main problem is that I've forgotten so much, and so much has changed that what little I thought I knew is completely wrong now. So, anyway, I want to make a basic Ranger-type character. You know, bow and arrows, leather armor, tracking, pet tamer, etc. The problem is, I don't know where/how to start. Is there a basic "build" out there on the 'net that isn't outdated that I can use to start a fresh new Ranger character with? Thanks!
  5. Kayhynn, I appreciate the advice! Heh, I was hoping I could get on the "inside track" by posting my plea here, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to jump through the hoops like every other dev that wants to work at a game development company. Close to the topic, I wonder how many devs they actually have working on UO right now? I bet not as many as they had back in UO's heyday. Anyway, thanks again for the advice!
  6. Seriously. I have over 18 years of professional development experience and I want to work on Ultima Online. I played UO in the early years and have always wanted to work for a game development company. But, that never happened and I've ended up working for various companies like air bag manufacturers, a major athletic shoe manufacturer, a clothing manufacturer, an insurance company and, for the past four years, an electrical utility company. I'm so tired of working on projects that I don't have a personal interest in. I think it would be heavenly to actually work on something that you car
  7. I put my in full screen, under graphic options, but the resolution only goes to 1024 x 768, or something like that. And I'm playing on a 1440 x 900 screen. I'll tinker around with it again and see what I can do.
  8. Oh wow! Thanks so much! That music really brings back memories. There's also instructions on there on how to get the music into the game. Looks like I'll be doing just that. Thanks again!
  9. 1. The Classic Client looks really small on my monitor. I can barely make out details because the resolution can't be changed (at least, I can't find a way). 2. Most importantly, I miss the old music in UO! I haven't heard a single theme that I recognize while I've been playing. If only I could put the old soundtrack back in the game. Other than these two annoyances, I'm still having fun!
  10. Heh, Juevo Diablo were not my friends. They are just an important part of my UO experience during 1997-2000. They played a big role in me and my buddies learning how to survive their attacks (hardly ever) and we still had fun, despite the constant threat of being pk'd. It was the Wild West, so to speak and even the simple act of mining ore or chopping trees made us feel like we had accomplished something if we survived an attack by JD, or any other PK'rs. I can't really describe it other than to say it added a level of 'tension' to our activities.
  11. I think they were on several shards, but mainly on Chessie or Atlantic, if I remember correctly.
  12. Back when my friends and I played UO, there was this player-killer group called Juevo Diablo, or something like that. We called them JD, for short. I remember two members of the group, Alice Cooper and Juggernaut. These guys would terrorize everyone on the shard! It made adventuring a lot more fun, though, because of the extra element of "fear", but I know everyone hated it when they arrived on the scene, their red names proclaiming their evilness. "An EX Por!" and "Corp Por! Cor Por! Corp Por!" filled the screen and we'd all be frozen in place and chain-lightning'd to death! Heh, those
  13. What are most players using now? I was going to use the EC, but I saw on another post where someone was having problems with certain quests until they changed to the CC. So, it got me to wondering which client was the 'preferred' client. Thanks for any advice!
  14. Yep, I just paid the monthly fee to reactivate. I'll buy the upgrade codes for SA later this week. For now, I'm gong to concentrate on getting comfortable in UO again (which means, of course, lots of reading, playing, and learning/relearning).
