  2. The Catskills Black Market Recurring trading-event, scheduled for each first Saturday of the month at 8pm EST. Next Black Market: October 4th 2008, 8 pm EST. The United Pirates of Catskills are happy to announce the Black Market event! This recurring in-game trading and auctioning event will be accompanied by entertaining elements. 3. Do you mean in-game or something out of the game? A screenshot calendar could easily be created and even be distributed online (there are online photo services offering calendars). You just would have to collect good (and I mean GOOD) screenshots. Meaning, pictures of epic events, of things most people remember, of events that happened on all shards (like the Shadowlord Invasion). There are a lot of in-game events I can think of. I have a long list of events I plan to do with the United Pirates of Catskills (I won't go into details yet). You can check the UP website for ideas: http://www.a
  4. Any UO addict will tell you that UO is worth playing. Some facts and objective opinions: The population of UO is stagnating. There have hardly been any new players in 2008. We know, as we watch New Haven closely. However, veteran players keep returning to UO. Many of them come back because the other MMORPGs (especially WoW) didn't meet their expectations. UO has a lot of content and depth, and a certain complexity, so it doesn't get boring. UO is a community game. Although you can play very well by yourself (and unfortunately many choose to do so), the most fun you will have when joining a
  5. I want to thank all, who contributed to last night's Black Market event, either by being merchants with interesting wares, or by just showing up. Considering that it was the first event of its kind, it was a success! A lot of people showed up. We experienced that in-game trading is much more fun than vendor shopping. However, most of the high-quality runic crafted weapons and barbed armor (very fairly priced, by the way) didn't sell. Probably the visitors weren't aware of the excellent choice available. We'll have to think of a way to do it better next time. Next Black Market will be in a mo
  6. Catskills Pirate Conspiracy Event - Aug 30th, 9pm EST The Pirate Conspiracy is a series of events for all Catskills players, guilded or not. These events will consist of scavenger hunts, riddles, adventures and in some cases limited fighting. Some events will require geographic knowledge, some a keen mind, courage, or a moderate fighting skill. Few of the events will also be quite dangerous and challenging. Background: During a guild meeting at the Lion's Den in New Haven, the treasurer of the Gentle Rest Inn guild named Hefeustus was lured under false pretenses to a room next door. There

  8. Well, I've been playing UO since the beginning. And I can tell you, items always have played an important role in UO. While people hoarded tons of monster-lot armor and weapon in their bank box during the Early Days, now they are hoarding artifacts and runic-crafted stuff and litter used for item turn-ins. However, the importance of those items you could not easily get increased over time. Let me enumerate some facts: I think it was in 2000, when the "exceptional quality crafting" was introduced. Everybody liked that change, especially crafters. However, this was the first step into the dir
  9. Hi there! I also returned a few months ago, after a long break. First thing I did was updating my Adventurer's Guide, which contains a lot of up-to-date maps and information. I'm sure those will be a lot of help if you are trying to find your way. I can't remember any of the names you mentioned. However, our guild - The United Pirates - already existed on Catskills back during the Early Days. We're still alive and kicking. Good luck, happy hunting!
