Well, all that stuff about skin acidity... Nah I don't buy it. I think the real reason is because women tend to clean more and sometimes wear those rubber gloves whilst cleaning which harbours bacteria. Also changing nappies, looking after old people... wiping down surfaces etc etc... the washing up sponge is really not nice. So women touch more surfaces and things that have bacteria on them thus have more on their hands! That is my opinion

Re: Women have more Bacteria on their hands?
I'd agree with the cosmetic theory more. I know that after I wash my hands, I usually put lotion on. Then during the day I put on lip balm, even if I am not wearing other make up. Add in brushing my hair a lot (it tangles easily since it is long). All of those things would transfer bacteria to my hands.
Think of women with small children too. Kids are just a germ factory. Every time you touch one there is no telling what bacteria is on it lol.
Then again maybe your theory is right, and it just proves men don't do enough to help around the house!

Re: Women have more Bacteria on their hands?
Well, I notice alot of couples share the work, but the woman always does the bathroom/toilets and the man does the vacuum cleaning. Vacuum cleaning you don't really have to touch much, however bathroom showers toilets.... well.... there you go!
Seems to be the case in most relationships, maybe they should have done a survey on what exactly the person does the whole day and what they touch. Touching a motor engine is probably not as bad as cleaning the toilet or changing a nappy

But do it at least TWICE, as the first time you wash only exposes the bacteria... Second time starts to rinse them off...

Re: Women have more Bacteria on their hands?
It's because women have to wipe for #1 and #2, where as men only for #2. That's 50% less exposure for men.
Thanks again Maddux!
Adri: women don't discuss men while in the bathroom, we sacrifice small animals and smoke tampons *rolls eyes*
Adam: aye and in order to expedite the production of solidiers, i kill off the old people (Carp was right, Adam IS evil!)

Indeed... and well we all know how much bacteria is in our mouths so well... I don't need to say anymore really...

Yes, after cleaning the bathroom I always wash my hands twice, once with a washing up liquid for at least 30 seconds, then once with soap for 30 seconds. It feels like I have new skin after doing that
