What is Tatsujin Tengu?

Tatsujin Tengu is a new guild dedicated to roleplaying feudal Japanese culture in the Europa roleplay community. Originally the brainchild of Shunsaki Jun and Kazuo Shinrai; they created a fantastic player-run village in a secluded location. Inspired by the historic ninja clans and villages of the Koga and Iga regions of history and legend, the little settlement would house a small force of ninja that would do assassination jobs (and little else) as a subgroup within an existing guild.

As information about the project leaked, however, interest quickly grew and the project itself snowballed; with people expressing an interest in playing simple "Tokunese" villagers, merchants and peasants as well as typical ninja. With close to fifteen characters all being made or gathered and our village growing from three, to four, to seven buildings it became apparent that Tatsujin Tengu deserved a guild of it's own and so we've launched it.



What do we hope to achieve?

Ever since the departure of the old Kotadama Roju in the latter days of CoY, Europa roleplay has lacked a well represented Japanese-themed guild. We appreciate that there are many, many fans of ancient Japanese culture within the roleplay community and we hope to appeal to your interests and fill a gap.

We hope to build a bustling and busy little village full of great characters. We wish to create our own, localized, economy and to establish some self sufficiency by harvesting the resources of our area as well as by harnassing the skills of our native tradesmen. Coupled with ample personality we hope there'll be plenty going on and plenty to motivate our players to log in. Already in the last two weeks a lot of insular and very interesting roleplay has taken place there and we've a number of little plots and subplots circulating to add to the intrigue.

We do not want to wall ourselves off from Sosaria, however, and we hope to establish regular in-character trade with established towns like Trinsic, Cove and Vesper as well as player-run settlements (a la Stonekeep) to not only assist this growing, in-game economy but to add a feeling of depth and quality to the playing time of our non-violent villagers.



Where are the Tatsujin Tengu based?

We call it Koga-jima, it's a seven building, player-created village with a working dock, tea house, smithy, shrine and more.




What can Tatsujin Tengu offer me?

There's a real depth of knowledge about the culture we're trying to emulate within the guild's leadership. Not only are we somewhat dorky obsessives, we've also a rich history on the server of roleplaying feudal Japan with several of our founding members having a history in the Bujin'Kai and the Kotodama, including former members of TBK and KTD command.

With this experience we hope to offer you some realism, immersion, consistent and active roleplay (even whilst still a small guild), a hugely friendly and inviting member base and currently the only opportunity on Europa RP to immerse yourself in a feudal, Eastern experience.



Who can join and how do I find out more?

Any player can join! Literally, any, old and new roleplayers alike will be treated with equal respect. As far as characters go, both new and veteran characters are accepted though we do ask that they be Japanese, as appropriate. "Gaijin" (foreigners / "Britannians") will be rejected with no exception.
