After various arguements with the Chancellor over the past few days, Captain Escaflowne called for an emergency Council meeting at the Town Hall tonight.

Once the council were seated Escaflowne got straight to the point of demanding Chancellor Van Cocidius be removed from power with Van proceeding to defend himself. Insults and accusations were thrown between the two whilst the other members of the council put across their views.

Eventually they got down to voting with various members requesting a silent vote. Spectator Sergeant Hoagie Grayner from Cove stepped up to take peoples votes in private. The votes ended up with 4 for the removal of the chancellor and 3 for him to stay in power. With the votes in favour of the chancellor being removed, Escaflowne asked him to step down without a fuss but Van happily refused.

Captain Escaflowne proceeded to attempt an arrest on Chancellor Van and drag him from the room but whilst in the process a valid point was brought up. The Swaggers legally had the right to a vote but with Van representing the Swaggers and being Chancellor he could not vote twice. So Rebecca of the Swaggers Inn was brought in to give the Swaggers vote. She voted that the Chancellor stay in power thus creating a tie in the votes and making the vote invalid.

Captain Escaflowne stood up and told the Chancellor to prepare for a revolt before storming out of the hall.




It appears that a civil war is imminent.....

Tensions have been on the rise since the meeting. The Chancellor Van Cocidius and Militia Captain Escaflowne have both been seen and rumoured to be rallying citizens and fighters to their cause.

Last night the militia were seen out in force barricading a perimeter around the six southern islands of Vesper.

Posting themselves at these barriacades, they refused entry to the Chancellor and any of his followers whom they had several run ins with that night narrowly avoiding a fight.




It looks like the foundations are set in place for war....

WAR!!!

Tonight a battle broke out between the Vesper Militia and the Vesper Union in a power struggle to gain control of the docks district.
The two factions exchanged blows, fighting to hold a central command post on the island. They fought non stop for what seemed like hours with the command post changing hands continuesly.

After a very tense and close battle the Vesper Union emerged victorius, claiming control of the docks district.

The Civil war raged on last night as the Vesper Militia and Vesper Union engaged in combat on one of Vesper's larger islands.

Citizens were urged to evacuate as the militia set up defences on the island. Silence hung over the people of Vesper as they awaited the inevitable battle.
When the moment was right the Vesper Union charged the island with their loaded bows and unleashed volley after volley upon the militia's ranks. The militia responded with magic and steel attempting to hold their ground.

Twas a long bloody battle but at the end of it all the militia were forced to retreat from the island. Both factions fought bravely but victory on that night was in the Union's hands.

Last Tuesday battle was upon the city of Vesper once more. The island that houses the 'Marsh Hall' tavern was the site of one of this weeks struggles between the Vesper Militia and Vesper Union.

The staff at the Marsh Hall claimed they would join the Vesper Union's side in this civil war if they managed to deliver 3 kegs minimum of Vesparian Vodka.

The Vesper Militia barricaded the island in an attempt to prevent the delivery from happening followed by a battle between the warring factions.

Eventually the Trade Union was victorius, managing to deliver 5 kegs of Vodka leading to the Marsh Hall joining the Union.

This Thursday just passed the Militia and the Union were at eachother throats again, fighting for control of the island containing the Vesper Youth Hostel.

After a bloody and rather close battle that raged throughout the halls of the Hostel and around the island outside the Trade Union emerged Victorius once again!

The Moral amongst the Vesper Militia seems to be dropping fast.

!!!Cease Fire!!!

After Thursdays battle, Captain Escaflowne of the Militia and Chancellor Deacon Van Cocidius of the Trade Union met one another and agreed on a cease fire for one week. The reasons behind this being so that the troops involved could return to their families and to give them and the city of Vesper a break from the conflict; reparing any damages sustained to the city so far.

The militia have been allowed back into the Swaggers for the weeks duration of the cease fire and both factions have been seen training hard for when it ends.




In other news it seems that the Church of Saint Greenie is supporting the Vesper Militia in the civil war.

The Cease Fire was now over! The Vesper Militia and The Vesper Trade Union could be seen gathering in force and preparing for battle this Tuesday just past.

The Trade Union had targeted Vesper Customs for its next attack; but instead of assaulting via bridge, they came by sea sailing upon The Indomitable. Spotting them closing in from a distance, the Vesper Militia rushed to their ships, sailing out on The Vesper Pride and The Bloody Baron to meet their challenge.
A naval battle in the waters around Vesper quickly followed with the ships exchanging cannon fire, arrows and magic whilst attempting to board one another.

With the Trade Union taking the victory, both sides had to dock either side of the Customs island due to the ships taking heavy damage.
Once docked both forces rushed into battle around the island, fighting for control of the customs building. The Trade Union once again managed to beat the militia back taking control of customs.

The Vesper Militia regrouped on the western bridge preparing to launch an assault. They charged the customs building where the Trade Union awaited their attack inside. After a long struggle the militia managed to take the building from their grasp.
The Militia prepared to defend the building whilst the Union readied for one last attack.
They both did battle for one last time on this night but the Vesper Militia successfully managed to repel the Union's attacking taking their first Victory in the Civil War.





Now it seems the Militia are on the attack....

After their Victory last Tuesday the Vesper Militia prepared to push back and the Trade Union were ready and waiting.

Battling over the island bearing Vesper's Youth Hostel once again, the Trade Union stood strong being a hardened barricade on the bridge sending volleys of arrows against any militia that ventured too close.
After numerous attempts to break through the barricade seemed impenetrable; it was time for a different tactic.
The militia jumped aboard their fastest ship The Freedom and sailed around to the island in an attempt to flank the Trade Union. But it seems the Trade Union were prepared for such a tactic with a barricade at their backs putting the Vesper Militia down.

The Militia regrouped and launched their second assault, breaking through an empty barricade. They proceeded to the Youth Hostel where the Trade Union had barricaded themselves in. The militia managed to defeat the Union and re capture the building for the time being where they awaited another assault.
An another assault there was leading to the Trade Union successfully beating the militia back and causing them to pull out.

Another victory for the Trade Union.




But the battle was not over just yet! It seems a Crimson Dragon had descended upon Vesper and was causing havoc the other side of the city.
Both the Vesper Militia and the Trade Union rushed to meet the threat. A long battle ensued but eventually the dragon was slain.




At least the opposing factions can still pull together in defence of the city.

Last Monday when the Vesper Militia ventured out on a patrol they returned to find that their armory ablaze. After dousing the flames they beleived the Trade Union was behind the bombing.




Later on that eve the militia could be seen pulling down the statue of Chancellor Deacon Van Cocidius outside the Town Hall.

The conflict continued once more on Tuesday as the Vesper Militia and the Trade Union battled for the control of Nine Relics from the Museum of Vesper. These Nine Relics consisted of:

The Ark of Kha
Twothumb's Diary
Vladshaws Kaldorian Hammer
A Tooth of Greenie

Twas a long bloody battle and many thanks to Rebecca of the Swaggers Inn for setting up her outstanding Healing Sation to aid the wounded fighters.

However by the end of the battle, in which the Trade Union secured yet another Victory; the Diary of Twothumb was missing.

Last night on the eve of Wednesday, Captain Escaflowne made his way back to his office to complete some late night paperwork. However what he found was quite disturbing. A barrel of body parts lay outside his office door with a note attached to the top.
He beleives the Trade Union is behind this act.




It also appears that Chancellor Cocidius has gone missing!. His wife states that he never came home last night and has not been seen since.

The Civil War raged on again last Thursday as the Union and Militia clashed once again back on the Vesper Customs island. The Vesper Militia successfully defended it last time and prepared to defend it once more from the Trade Union.

After a fairly short but bloody battle the Vesper Militia took their second victory in the war, successfully defending the island once more.

Another week of bloodshed was upon Vesper as the Militia and the Union did battle once more. The Trade Union Prepared to defend the Marsh Hall Island from the Militia's assault.

The Trade Union set up a sturdy defensive position on the island to defend from what seemed to only be a handful of militia. The Militia cast their magiks to summon great elementals of fire in an attempt to even the odds before both factions locked into a battle.

The battle seemed to be quite even with no clear winners for most of the duration. The Union took two battle victories and the militia took two; but twas the last battle that settled it with the Trade Union taking victory once more and forcing the militia to withdraw.
