Lenley the Snitch Quest

Eowyna closed the dusty book and thought hard about what she had just read -- a stone of true seeing, created long ago by the elves of Gondolin and now lost -- lost to ratmen hoards who had stormed the city and looted many of its treasures. Such a thing could be of great value to the Temple.

And now Maddux, recently returned from travels, had brought her a clue as to its possible whereabouts. In the caves of Santuary, among the hoards of ratmen, he had encountered one such called Lenley the Snitch. Lenley had hinted that he knew of great stolen artifacts of Gondolin and offered a clue as to their whereabouts for a price. But before revealing his required payment, he'd been carried off by gargoyles, and Maddux was therefore unable to find out the nature of these stolen artifacts. What if one of the artifacts was indeed the stone of true seeing? The possibility was tantalizing. Eowyna reached for a quill and parchment.

Sometime later she handed the rolled parchment to the Temple acolyte. "Would you post this, please, in the Temple library. I want the people of the Enclave to read it." The acolyte took the parchment, and proceeded to do as he was bid. So this, today, was posted on the Temple wall:

A CHALLENGE TO THE CITIZENS OF THE ENCLAVE

The Temple is in need of your help in the possible recovery of a relic of old Gondolin. This item could be of great value to the research conducted by the Temple. Should you wish to aid the Temple, the following should be done:

1) Locate one Lenly the Snitch in the caves near the place now called Sanctuary. This will not be an easy task, for he is a stealthy thief of a ratman, and spends much of his time in hiding.

2) Find out what Lenley requires you to do in order to obtain that which he possesses.

3) Upon completion of Lenley's quest, return the items you are given to Temple for evaluation by our priests.

It is our hope to locate a missing seeing stone, but all who return elven artifacts to the Temple will be richly rewarded. But do beware! The caves around Sanctuary are dangerous and filled with vermin and evil creatures. Companionship is advised!

It is of the utmost importance that this item is recovered from Lenly the Snitch. As a reward to the guild member who places that item in Seldarelle Eowyna's hand first will be rewarded a Legendary +20 Scroll of Evaluate Inteligence. This reward can be found locked down in our Tavern for all to view. Good Luck.

*ponders long and hard* Sanctuary? That place is beyond infested. I may make an attempt, but from what I heard, I think I'd rather take on a Dark Father alone.

well....... i got about four steps inside the gate and died............ next time i will just die and go look around........
seems the easiest way to do it.

My friends, we have faced many challenges together and have always suceded in the face of overwhelming odds. This task is not impossible and it can be done in trammel with no paragons. We are not like n'telquessar who steal and bring dishonor to themselves. Find Lenley and recover this artificat.

This is a Call to Arms........

All able bodied men and women shall for one day (afternoon or evening as agreed to by all) leave their Duties, labor shall cease, ye shall don the uniforms of the Justicars.

It is imperative that we find this Linley, make inquiries of him regarding the whereabouts of the seeing stone, and since we may not recognize it, we shall return all objects of any nature found during the course of this search to the Enclave, where Eowyna Rohanna will inspect same.

If ye wish to search on yer own, or join together with another to find this artifact of Gondolin, all is well..........

Otherwise, we shall form up, bringing what armour, weapons and skills which might be of use, and meet as a group.

This may take the efforts of several Justicars Skatha, we shall give each individual time to attempt to earn the reward and if all fail we will have to form together and save Lenley.

Mae has spent hours in Sanctuary looking for Lenley......... just wanted some idea of what we were up against........

of course, she was dead at the time....... maybe he doesn't appear to the dead?

Thank you all for your efforts so far! Almost every single one of our guild members has been to Santuary to investige this Ratman, Lenley. I am sure that we will soon make contact with him and recover the seeing stone. The Temple is very grateful.

OK, every time that I ever saw him, he was within the first part (before the "screen shake" and "map-move") and I believe that he only appears every so often.

He looks just like a normal rat man (pretty sure he was in red...like a rat mage if memory serves) and when you mouse over him it gives his name as "Lenley the Snitch" and Im almost positive that that when you bring up the context menu, he asks you to escort him to the exit.

I cant remember if the other creatures target him before you accept the quest, but they definitely do after you accept.

I was going to try to stealth in, find him, and escort him while still hidden. Never got around to it, so if youre solo, cant hurt to give it a shot!
