General of the Ratmen
A glorious night my last turned out to be or was it my last?. Perhaps my Gods deemed me worthy of spirit after this call to arms I had the honor to partake in.
I had spent most of my day training the new falcon I raised from a hatchling. She was making good progress this day taking to the swoops and dives I coached her into. When a small sparrow landed on my shoulder. "What is that my little friend, please slow down I find it hard to understand, I'm only a half elf" he slowed his speech enough so he could deliver his message "Elminster you say? Call to arms? where?" he had of course worked himself into a flutter again and all I got was Skara "What? Skara? when do we meet him?" once he told me I quickly brought in the young falcon and quickly mounted Mare. With a Sanctum Viatas I was standing on the steps of my home. "I must find pen and parchmentto alert my fellows that thier might is needed" But easier said then done and i was running out of time quickly. I wrote the message out on a bit of cloth and sent the seasoned falcon out to deliver the message. "I will need the magical armor my armsman crafter for me" I quickly set to work getting into that ugly armor knowing its healing magic will help me to stay alive. Now rumor came of fluttering wings that this call to arms was to take care of a mear Ratman. I laughed it off and was about to dress in my traditional armor when the small bird said its worse then Baracoon the vile piper who resides in the bowels of Despise. "he's worse?" I rubbed the formings of a beard on my chin. "I will need paint for this". And off I went to Skara Bank where Elminster waited. It seemed only two of us had answered the call when m'love Skatha and Pru showed up, sometime later a memeber of the alliance showed up. Dont press me for the name I was busy comuning with my gods until the gate came up and Elminster brought us to the vile location. We climbed down into the hole as a sizable force of some 40 elves and humans, mages and warriors. We fought valiantly through the armies of Ratman archers and mages till we came face to face with this General. The group of warriors, myself included, rushed into the fray.Only a few of us stayed ourselves as many others were quickly turned into ratmen. When out of no where me and my fellows were thrown across the cavern by some unseen force. When I and my fellows came to our senses we were quickly healed by the many mages and were back into the frey. I was one for the history books human and elf fighting side by side, enimies became friends for those brief moments and in the end we triumphed over the foul General. There were countless casualties but with the help of the mages they were minimized. When I found the corpse and started looting it I came across a small bottle of color as loot, and a formidable bow were quickly shuved into my pack. Not much in the way of spoils but the show of arms brought to defeat this being was spoils enough. Loyalties I'm sure are now broken but for one day we were brothers, we spilt blood together in a common goal. It was a most valiant day, my guildmates Skatha and Pru fought well, I commend you both on your skill and fighting that day. a personal note to Skatha: I think you title now suits you after the long battle you fought m'love. |

Re: General of the Ratmen
I returned home after the battle with the General, battered and bruised,
armor burned and pierced here and there, and my supply of arrows severely depleted. My goddess had gifted upon me a bottle of gold colour, could it be used to disguise myself as a paragon? Taking the first bottle of the early spring mushroom wine from the cabinet, i set it and a crystal glass on the table in the library, settled into the comfy chair next to it, and poured myself a glass of wine. This seasons vintage was a bit sweeter than last, but ever so mellow. I could feel the effects almost immediately, my sore, tight muscles began to ease, and my thoughts drifted easily to more pleasant things. Perhaps i had been unwise to choose this warrior's life....... would i be better suited to domestic chores, planting flower beds, stitching fine clothing, perhaps playing the harp once again. Tending chickens and goats held no appeal for me whatsoever (so messy and the odor unbearable), but raising those marvelous thoroughbred black mares would surely delight my heart and provide an adequate income. Hmmm... maybe even cooking, something i had not considered; t'would be an easy task to install an oven.. And instead of armor, i could wear impeccably crisp dresses during the day, and party till the wee hours in gowns sewn from cloth woven of rare metals and the finest silks and wear my most precious jewelry and hair ornaments.. Surely there were stil those who held lavish dinners and grand balls in the great Nujel'm Palace. My elven heart ached to once again stroll through the gardens there on the arm of a brave and gentle warrior, and dance until dawn.... talking with friends, and seeing those i had not seen in ages. my soul surrended to the memories, and imagined memories yet to be made.. I awakened to the sounds hoofbeats on the dirt road in front of my house, and chased the chickens from the porch.... Hurridly, i called for Starshine to repair my armour and weapons, Pixel to restock the arrows and work the fine powders into the wooden bow so that it might see the next battle with even more life. The terrible memory of being transformed into a fat-bellied rat with spindly little fur matted legs jarred me back to reality..... so hoping that m'love Marzan had not caught a glimpse of me during that time. I poured another glass of wine, thinking that perhaps I may yet become a great warrior.... and a truly Glorious Lady. *sigh* contemplates searching the chests for the ointments to easy the physical pains.. instead... drinks the glass empty and pours another! Spotting the flask of Paragon Gold colour on the table, i giggle at the thought of a Paragon Gold Skatha..... oh, how i did hate that Blaze Gold........
