Vacation Getaway: Hawaii

He's still not home, and while he's relaxing on the beach, I'm doing his work!

Visited the islands back in '06 and saw that same little Shrimp Shack! Didn't get to eat there, we were on an island tour at the time and I'm not much for seafood anyway. I loved being on Oahu. Maui was too laid back and spread out for me. I like being on top of everything and not having to drive an hour for dinner.

As for affording a trip like this, my gal and I went with 48 other folks, and we got killer, I mean KILLER, discounts for being a group that large. We're talking staying in a room that normally ran $500 a night for only $200 a night! I'm telling ya, the way to do a trip like this is to plan it with a large group. Oh and use a good travel agent.

It wasn't really an issue for my gal and I. IIRC, our trip cost us like $3500 for 10 days and 2 islands and we stayed at the best resorts.

Had a great day under the water and the waves. I had to use a standard normal film camera for some some underwater photography. Once I'm on the mainland, I'll have them developed and get some posted. I managed to get some pics of a sea turtle.
