Ghost Town

Sometimes I just pick a location on the map and drive there, and Rhyolite, Nv was one of those locations. Dip, may have you believe that I am either hiding Saddam Husein's Gold here or digging it up. Exploring is a hobby of mine.

Rhyolite is located 4 miles west of the town of Beatty, Nevada on HWY 374. The East entrance to Death Valley, Rhyolite offers photographers, explorers and ghost town enthusiasts an enjoyable experience. There is no information available at the ghost town.

This is Tom Brady's Bottle House.

I couldn't help myself and signed the visitors registry.

Rhyolite, Nv train Depot. No longer in service.

Some of you may recognize the Cook Bank in Rhyolite, Nv from the Movie: The Island staring Ewan McGregor and Scarlet Johansen.

Ryholite is an amazing ghost town. Not sure now, but for a long time Greyhound used make the loop off of 374 to stop there and let the passengers look around before continuing on to Death Valley.

I have some family that lives in Beatty. As kids we used to ride motorcycles and buggies out to Rhyolite and around the open desert. Had to be careful though of all the open mines and vertical shafts.

Well, now we know it is no longer the place you stashed away the gold. Good hiding spot though.

Is that really Tom Brady's?? I may have to make the trip myself.... *picks up a baseball sized rock, tests it's weight* ... yes... may have to go myself indeed...

any idea where bullfrog is/was off of that bronze plack? Sister town? Few miles away as crow flies? Any clues?

In keeping with all the cross-shard tours going on, I think Maddux should give us a "photo tour" of all the cool and unique spots he's gone to.

Bullfrog, Nv is aproximately 2 to 3 miles Southwest from Rhyolite. It's called Bullfrog, because of the mine in the area was named "Bullfrog."
