| An olde parchment falls.... (OOC): Found this old post I had saved made by an old friend. Kinda made me smile, so I thought I'd share. We played on Ches then in a guild called The Fellowship (TFS). It's a gamers guild with factions in all games. We've been together since the days of The Realm. Rhydian was part of a different guild, more RP, so I had tracked him down to the long gone guild site of this post. Saw he had a post about a quest, then I replied to his request for company. Hence the following post. I still talk to him to this day, though he travels in a different game for now.

Subject: Se'an Silverfoot Quote:
The warrior spun on his mount, startled. The stealthy Elf had in some manner contrived, mounted, to steal upon him entirely undetected. Though having met Se'an twice or thrice during councils at Athanore', the Quendi remained more a hero from fable than an actual person to Darragh ...
His thoughts drifted to a chill winter evening before the fire where the Runelord would frequently regale them with the tales wound about the fabulous adventures which invariably befell the members of the legendary Fellowship. One in particular, that of the merry band's initial incursion into the depths of Dungeon Wrong unfolded in his mind's eye ...
He heard the echo of the Erulian's voice in the telling:
"We'd gone t' Wrong t' ... ummmm ... liberate some artifacts, ye might say. Aye, very much were we the ones for artifact liberatin' in those days!"
Rhydian had smiled and fingered, as if in fond remembrance, a silver filigreed chain that hung about his neck.
"All was proceedin' apace when suddenly ... we found ourselves surrounded! Into an ambush we'd fallen! A large party o' trolls encircled us unawares in the dank gloom o' the dungeon's main chamber, full blockin' the one 'n' only exit! Beckett, Hrnac, Silverhair, Se'an 'n' I stood wi' nae way o' escape, our gutterin' torches held high 'n' weapons at the ready as the yowlin' host advanced. Two score or more o' the brawny giants there were ... 'n' mad?!? Ye gods! Ye'd think we'd been caught stealin' from 'em or somethin'! It did nae look good for the home team, I can tell ye that!"
"Beckett 'n' Silverhair stood back t' back, their blades decimatin' any who approached. Hrnac wove nimbly amongst 'em, his longsword infallibly piercin' the fell foes' ... errrr ... vitals. A young mage was I, but I daresay that the defensive spells which I worked as I stood b'hind their web o' steel, proved o' some small value."
The audience, enrapt, groaned loudly with such unabashedly feigned humility. The Erulian laughed, eyes sparkling with delight, and continued:
"Ooch, aye! Suffice it that, were it nae for the flashin' swords o' m' stalwart companions, I'd nae here be sittin' this day tellin' ye the tale. Needless t' say, we did eventually fend off the dire throng, but .. somehow, 'n' I still don't know t' this day quite how he managed it, Se'an had b'come separated from us in the fray! We could find him naewhere! 'neath ev'ry troll carcass in the main hall we looked, in ev'ry hollow, nook 'n' crevice, searchin' high 'n' low. Finally, at the end o' one long 'n' windin' passageway, we heard a faint murmur from b'neath a huge mound o' bloody troll cadavers. Hurriedly did we start rollin' 'em one from off the other ... when suddenly ..."
"Up there pops the head o' ol' Silverfoot, his face, ev'ry inch, covered in troll blood, his fine hair matted wi' the stuff ... but I swear, had we nae the torches, his beamin' smile as he held aloft a pouch 'n' proudly proclaimed "Look wha' I ha'e found!" alone could ha'e illumed our way through the labyrinth on that day!"
The memory faded, and Darragh discovered himself to be looking into the strength of that very face, into that same engaging smile.
"An' why nae?" responded Darraugh gruffly, concealing his gratitude at the offer of camaraderie along the unknown path which stretched before him.
"I kin'nae think o' a companion more fittin' for this lunatic quest than a suicidal Elf!"
Se'an's dancing eyes merely glinted in amusement. He chuckled as the duo spurred their mounts, sunlight dancing from his golden hair until they progressed into the shadowed tunnel formed of overhanging branches that wound into the depths of the forest. Darragh | "Careful what you wish for, You just might get it all.... And then some you don't want"
