inner fire
Rage swept over her. A silent scream that she could no longer keep silent!
Heat burst under her skin, her skin turning cherry, as if she was blushing! Her palms sweaty and twitchy. How dare those townfolks giver HER names! The open advise to her parents, she should be married off to a strong man. "Maybe the blacksmith? he could use a wife?!" Which would mean meaty and hard hands grabbing her dragging her to the altar. Teaching her manners, whenever she toed out of line. Bearing someones children and be bound to a fate she'd never choose for herself....never! Bewildered, she ranted! Screamed! Her eyes filled with evil intentions HOW DARE THEY! Her parents were never capable of controlling her! She was grounded... she ran away for the day! She was punished... she never let out so much as a whisper, that she was in pain and raw and hurting. How dare they! How could they! How ... ! The head felt light and hot and a silent scream caught in her throat, in her belly was a knot so tightly twisted, she was aching and her breath was caught in her lungs... A barn caught on fire, people screaming, animals found dead the next morning... They said it was a wild fire. Kaylee watched from the distance. White and shaking! She turned away from her mother's hand and buried herself into the chest of her older brother Cole. Cole... she sobbed.. she never sobbed, it was a sign for weaker beeings than her. Months had passed before the incident and she had begged him to leave with her! Flee from that horrid life she was forced to live! His worried eyes lay on her, but he had refused and she had stayed! Where should she go without him anyway? Smoke filled the air and everyones lungs from the remains of the fire. Yet again, his eyes laid on her, bored into hers, he nodded slightly! Yes! He should take her away! Take her somewhere to learn to control the heat inside her, the anger, the rage, the passion, the hate she carried inside her for no reason since so many months. No one should feel so much, so deep... she was on her way to self destruction, so he finally agreed and they left their little village behind, walking for days in days out. Little did she know what laid ahead of them, but every step further was more encouraging than anything she felt before. Her brother Cole her only comfort and companion...in what she saw as a big adventure and what he saw as his duty.... |

Re: inner fire
Silently he moved at her side, looking forward to the City, which lay underneath them. While she was all cheerfull and smiling, talking about the things, they could do, he remained at ease. A small smile showed on his face, as his dark blue eyes touched her. How she had changed in this weeks of their journey. Even when she became aware, that travelling was not always fun, for they had to search for food, had to find shelter or build one, when a storm was approaching, she still was burning with happiness.
She did well. Very well indeed. But had she changed in truth? Or was it the freedom, to do, as she pleases, to go, where ever she wanted, which kept this hazardous powers of her at bay? He remembered this day, this dreadful day, when her rage fall upon the villagers. They begrudged her free spirit and searched to restrain her. But with this they all condemned themselves. He still could remember the stench of burned fur, burned flesh, heard the people screaming for help. They had never understood… Never understood, what she needed. She needed guidance – not a leash. He tried to give her guidance… Days of trying to show her how to focus. Days of trying to give her an inner peace. Things, he was tought by his master, but a scholar himself, he knew to less – he failed her. He obviously know how to learn… but how to teach… He had hoped for her sake, that she would learn by herself, if he could not teach her. Learn to restrain that awful rage of hers. Again – he failed her. He should have left with her long before this incident. But then – he wasn’t ready to leave. He had his very own fight on these past days. Still the bloodlust, the combativeness was within him. A close kin of her own rage. But then he knew, when to open to this bloodlust. When to set it free. And when to keep it at bay. He learned very early, how to focus. How to be at peace. Again his eyes went to the city. He hoped, that they would find someone, who could teach her, what he failed to do. And until she learned how to restrain herself for her own sake, he would be her guardian. This was his duty. To keep her safe… and those, who came across her. |
