So i work very little due to health reasons and we are a person short right now so i have to be on call.... and every week on the same day one girl calls off over and over so at the last minute I have to go to work
WELL today is the day and now im off to work it just really pisses me off that the owner wont do a damn thing about it ! and im really sick and tired of it! So now i have to find someone to drive me to work at the last minute and the boss is mad at me about that IF I COULD DRIVE ID BE THERE ON TIME but he doesnt get it so tonight i tell him he either gives me the day or he finds someone else to work it

Stupid people. My youngest daughter had the same issue with one of her co- workers. They PROMOTED the moron.... Over my daughter... *rolls eyes* makes you wonder who that girl Knew....

Sorry to hear you are having troubles, but you need to start taking some action. I'd start by writing her up for excessive absents. If the owner won't let you do that, then mention to him/her that this girl needs her schedule changed since she obviously can't be at work on that particular day. I'd hate for you to get upset and quit because that just means this moron you work with wins

I have to deal with that a lot at my part time job(I am not the Manager thank god, just the head doorman). But people who think it will be "party time" to work at a nightclub soon find out the opposite is true, you are there to WORK, not get drunk and buck around. So we have a fairly high turn over rate.

It really annoys me when they take the night off without a call and they KNOW they are working(because they were there the day before to check the schedule) and they show up at 12:30-1am drunk and expecting to get in free(no cover for employees and $3 drinks all night).

If this was happening in the full time job, I would work on writting up the person who is missing all the days only if it is affecting MY JOB, if it is affecting another co workers I leave it to that person to call me and complain or do something themselves.

But honestly is the owner so stupid he doesn't realize she is taking that day off every week for how long(if its like 2-3 weeks thats different).

But next time they call I would say, she was scheduled she works it. I am not here to work someone else's job and if you want to fire me for something that stupid then you do it.

I told him last night why are you keeping her if she cant work why dont we hire someone who wants to work and needs a job he wasnt happy about that but o well

Well you should tell the owner he shouldn't accept "favors" from employees =Þ

You should have a 'job in reserve option' too before you tell him that.
