My pings have been in the low 300's out here...but I am on the little island of Okinawa...kind of the hill billies of Japan. Well, at least that is what I have heard. I can't tell because they all speak Japanese. On a good day I get pings that are in the low 100's.

I don't know much about this argument or the purpose. I think he was just sharing what he posted on another forum and wanted some other opinions. I just wish the pure warrior were more powerful...they probably are but I am too much of a goober to figure it out. Can this be considered a rant?

actually the hillbillies in japan are the ones who live wayy north. the opposite of what is considered hillbilly in america. The ones up where I lived in Misawa were the oppitomy of redneck. The japanese in Okinawa are what most americans would call Hawaiians. They are the unwanted members of their country. They just in the last 20 years started using Yen instead of US$

well its a PvP argument that has been going on now for a long while.. the archer thing is the newest wave because it came around with ML... but.. for the most part PvP has been broken since AoS and Fel has been dead since Pub 16..

im unsure as to why it has to be brought up again, because EA is going through hell trying to fix it.. its their primary focus.. and they get flamed for it constantly over on stratics... my original post was mostly made in frustration because I'm one of the people that has complete confidence in the Dev team and i really don't like to see people continually kicking up stuff that is very very old news.

as far as ping is concerned.. anything over 100, at least to me is pretty much no pvp.. i lag too much and i already suck.

I think one reason they get flamed on it is, since AoS has come out, PvP has been broken, and if they are working so hard to fix it, they always have time for expansions. If they were working as hard on PvP as they are on expansions, then PvP would be better than ever.

its their new focus.. haven't you kept up on any news or developments or do you just like being the center of attention by pointing out the obvious and trying to jump on the band wagon by attacking the devs.

the real imbalance came with ML.. AoS changed PvP a great deal by making it more item focused.. but it wasn't like things were so drastically over powered that it was impossible.

ever since ML has come out their focus has been on fixing the imbalace caused by archers... they had been promising fixes to PvP for a long while and now they are delivering.. why the hell do you have to ride their ass by making some post pointing out the obvious? maybe if you would take a moment and let them work you would find out how their fixes are coming... maybe PvP will be better than its ever been when they are done.. but they have barely just started and they already have people flaming them to fix the problems...

whatever, this is a stupid usless post that is extremely uninformed. if it continues to turn into dev bashing its going to the war room, where it belonged in the first place.

I don't see the need for him to jump on the devs and EA... all of these are known problems.. all posting about it does is place added pressure and frustration on a dev team that is in desperate need of support. If he wants to post it on Stratics thats fine.. they like giving the Devs a hard time and shoving all the known problems in their face.. there is no reason to post it here because all of these issues have been addressed, and pretty much everyone has made their opinions known...

im not saying he can't post it, but id like to know the point behind it, because from where i stand, when you rehash known issues that have been known for a very long time.. it becomes less about the issues and more a cry for attention. I at least would like to keep these forums clean of dev bashing and mindless complaining. the problems are being solved. if he feels the need to rant about PvP there is a specific forum for it. Posting it here in the general UO section is unnecessary. Im just waiting to get another opinion from some of the Lead mods/admins before i move it.

Well, my only comment is that we are already ahead of Stratics on the post. No one has called Cobra nasty names here and I think it highly unlikely it would ever happen here.

I can play on Legends or any shard (european/usa) shard without freezing, the problem is with your connection, or seems to be
150ms to a shard is pretty bad, I get 150ms playing a West coast shard from England
You should be getting about half that at the least.

You need to run a continual trace route using UOTrace to see where the problem lies.

I don't see a problem with your post per se', it (As others have said) is well presented and obivously expresses your frustration at the situation facing hundreds of players in UO.

In my own personal opinion, I don't understand how the PVP scene can be in such dissarray, you'd think after 8? years, they would've learned what TO do and what NOT to do.
Maybe that's just me though.
