So you do every thing you can to help others without thinking twice that maybe your help is more then what they ever wanted or thought possible. How would you know that if they don't tell you what it is that they do and don't want you to do? As long as its productive how can it be harmful?

After all these years of growing older I finally know what it means when they say .. no good deed goes unpunished. Now, how to handle it without becoming angry or resentful is the next step to understanding a tense situation. Everyone has good days and bad days but are we to be the brunt of their bad days without them even realizing it? Why do some folks find it so hard to say their sorry for lashing out at others without a good reason to do so?

Oh well .... Never thought I would do a rant or a spiel .. but there is a first time for everything ...

No good deed goes unpunished--a sadly true statement. I'm sorry that you, Queen Mum, of all people, found your assistance unappreciated. (At least, I assume something similiar transpired.) It just isn't possible to please some people, I suppose.

unfortunately, we cannot read minds. some want all the help possible, and there is nothing wrong with that....... others want a hint, and would rather figure things out on their own.

as you said, if they don't tell you..... how are you to know...... just don't lose sight of what a difference a bit of help now and then can do for others.... it is often the difference in someone's life...... we never know how far our thoughtful deeds go....... so hang in there..... and keep doing the good stuff..... *grins* you probably couldn't stop if you wanted.......

Sorry to hear Mum, sad to say, but I guess no one is immune to being the verbal punching bag.
