Ok... so I have this little tub for my 40 lb, hyper pooch, right? Tell me why he is SO good while he is being lathered and rinsed but acts completely insane as soon as I wrap a towel around him to dry him off? He nips at the towel and runs to it, knowing he is going to fight me and not let me get it around him. No mess while he is bathing... you would think there would be... no way! I always seem to smell like a wet dog but only after trying to towel him... lol... and I always need a bath myself. Just commenting... I think I need an on-call dog stylist....

I used to be a dog groomer, and almost all dogs get hyper after a bath. Something about the water and feeling cleaner I guess. Or maybe just relief it is over! lol

To bathe or dip a kitty, the easiest thing is to use one of the 'bath bags' they have. If you don't have one, or can't find one, you can use an old pillowcase too. Just put kitty in it with his head poking out, hold it so he can't get a leg out to scratch you to bits, and dip the cat, bag and all, into the dip. If you are washing him tho, be sure to rinse him off really well if you use a pillowcase.

Oh, and you don't want to reuse the pillowcase on your pillows. Unless you have fleas, then it is up for debate.

With my dog he was alright with everything, he was the dirtiest cleanly dog I have ever seen. He was a german shepard, chow mix. He wouldn't nip at the towel or anything but he would go barrel assing through the house after I dried him dang near crashing into everything along the way. We had the "Chaney" proof the house, Chaney being his name based off of "Lon Chaney, Jr." aka, the wolf-man .

But anyway he always rolled around on the floor and/or dirties spot outside right after a bath but yet when I had him I use to do the Wet and dry food mixing. Well the way he was, I think my mom got it started. Everytime after he ate he would come to you wanting you to clean off his mouth lol. Didn't even have to be something with gravey in it, he still needed his mouth whiped off and would sit by you and whine until you did it lol. Yeah I never get normal animals every animal I have ever owned has some sort of wierd quawrk.

Best way to wash a cat is to take them by that flabby chunk of skin on their necks (you know, the ones where you dont get scratched when holding them there) then in 1 very quick motion...................... lift the toilet seat, toss em in there and slam the sucker down. Flush about 5 times, and there you have it.

I made decent money grooming pets, but I'll never do it again if I can help it lol. Talk about a dirty, thankless job! I did more then just dogs and cats too. I had a trio of guinea pigs who were regular clients. Did you know they can't swim? So, if you have an urge to bathe your guinea pig in a sink, be careful... We also had ferrets, a huge rat, and a couple of parrots who came in too. Imagne trying to keep everyone safe and happy, in a very small shop.
