Re: Gas prices falling?????

Been there quite a few times, my recruiter was based out of there, and sometimes came up to Lasalle-Peru to man that office, but it was generally empty. I like springfield, it is a nice town, very old styled, if I remember correctly.

Hehe I should have said that in my first reply. Yeah I'm Canadian. Didn't mean to confuse you there.

Oh and it's down to $1.05Cdn/litre today. They said it might drop to as low as 80-90 cents per litre.

Re: Gas prices falling?????

Gas is roughly $2.40 a gallon here. There is a place that is a few cents cheaper, but they always have a line around the block to get to the pumps.

Re: Gas prices falling?????

Don't fall for the trick. The oil companies drove the prices up based on "fears" of turmoil in the middle east, natural disasters and how people felt about Freedom Fries. So, we get used to paying over $3 a gallon in the States (I know it is more expensive in the rest of the world) and when it drops to $2.59 we think this is the greatest thing in the world. Does anyone recall what the price was before all these spikes?

Re: Gas prices falling?????

That's exactly how it works out. If anyone remembers the last time gas prices skyrocketed in short period, it worked the same way, but on a faster time period. In 1999 gas was roughly $1 - $1.10 then in the next year to a year and a half (I forget what happend, it was based on fear) it jumped to $2, then quickly settled in to around $1.50. But because everyone was so stressed with the price of $2 a gallon, it was such a relief to see it back down to $1.50 that nobody really cared that it was at $1 just a couple years before.

And the price of gas pre-katrina and pre-9/11 was.... $1.50.

Re: Gas prices falling?????

That is my point exactly! I am glad we see eyeball to eyeball. Switch to Harleys!!! Less gas and you get fresh air! Well, relatively fresh.

I just got one and can't wait to learn how to ride...yes, I went a little crazy and bought a motorcycle without even knowing how to ride one. It should be delivered in about two weeks...overseas thing.
