It sure seemed from the story that the guy passed out and the kid mustve gotten his drink.

Never mind the drink, the guy was leaving 2 toddlers to run around the house unmonitored while he slept! Something far worse than legal limit intoxication couldve happened...

either way he is culpable..whether he fell asleep with his drink accessible or not...he should be beaten with a dry noodle (not a wet one!)

And I agree, the guy is certainly to blame for anything that happened while he was supposed to be watching the children.

If it were my children Id be ebating him with something a bit tougher than a noodle...maybe my car.

I'm surprised at folks in this thread taking this so lightly.
If I had left my child with someone (family member or no) and they got drunk and passed out and my babies.. children... whatever got into any alchohol OR ANYTHING ELSE. I would be in jail for murder.
People should take responsibility! He will say "Oh I put them down for a nap and took a nap myself, that baby must have gotten up while I was sleeping and drank what was left in the can on the table" And that is supposed to be OK??
Apparently it is since everyone is taking this so lightly, and since it seemed to have happened to people in this thread when they were little...

People should get something equivilant to murder charges for such a thing.

Flutter i did not mean for it to be taken 'lightly'...i for one would not have ..i was just trying to tone down what i'd rEALLY like to do to the guy. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 15 month old and one due end of april/beginning of may...and so far the only ones who really watch my kids are family and the occiasional friend of family. i don't trust many people with my kids (and my daughter as of late doesn't want anyone but mommy). I 'm sorry if i upset you by 'belittiling' this topic. I surealy haven't meant to, but belive you me, my real thoughts of this guy and what should be done to HIM, are much much worse than i would post in a public forum.

Flutter, personally..i would be in that jail cell with you. The guy shouldnt have left ANYTHING that could harm babies/children within reach of them. But regardless of how we react and what we say on this board, its not gonna effect the outcome of his trial. He will get punished or released based on evidence they find, not what we say.

well i reserved my rl view on the outake cause if i'd really said how i felt, i might not be able to post anymore. but yes i do agree , i'd be in jail if it would have been my kids , even if it was a family member of mine that had done it, it just shows ya how calous and insensitive,and un moral some ppl like that guy is.
