Crash survivor killed on roadside
A Leicester mother who escaped a road accident unharmed was killed minutes later as she waited by her vehicle.

Kamaljit Kaur, 43, was driving around a bend at Great Stretton, Leicestershire when her car left the road and went into a ditch on Wednesday morning.

Both Ms Kaur and her passenger were uninjured in the incident but as a man helped to reverse the Ford Focus out of the ditch it was hit by another car.

Ms Kaur who was standing near her car was killed in the collision.

Subsequent accidents

The male driver who was assisting her suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Vauxhall Signum which collided with the Ford Focus on Gartree Road was unharmed.

Police said there were three minor road collisions near to scene shortly after the accident but no-one was injured.

Pc Mark Davey from the road policing unit, said: "It is vitally important that we trace anyone who was on that stretch of road who saw the incident or who noticed any of the vehicles involved beforehand. Even small details could be important so please come forward if you think you can help.

"Investigations are now underway into the full circumstances surrounding the incident involving the three vehicles to establish the cause of the collision."

Yep that is what I always say too... when your number gets pulled doesn't matter where you are or what your doing... it will happen...

my sis is very afraid of flying (after a movie that has a plane crash at the beginning, then survivors...some might know this one). I had to fly a lot when i lived in california and was part of a professional handbell group that did a lot of touring. I told her same thing...if it's my time to go it's my time to go whether i'm up in that plane or walking down the street. (although i've heard people say 'yes but i don't want to be on the plane when it's the 'pilots' time to go).
