I kinda enjoyed my 6mths living/working in Canada myself. You cant judge any place by one event.

Agree. I've lived here (Canada) for almost 10 years now. And I've never had a bad experience.

Very sad what happened to that poor man all because he did not know English. It was all caught on video so yes we actually have a very well documented account of what happened and it should have been handled better as the outcome was this mans death. Put your self in his place you arrive in a country where you don't know the language to see your mother you are on a plane for a twelve hour flight you land you spend another ten hours at the air port no food no water no rest. It was estimated that this man had been awake with no sleep for over 24 hours. I have great sympathy for this man and his family and do not wish for this incident to be repeated.

Police did a very very bad judgement.. too quick. They come in and taser him more or less..

What kind of airport doesnt have a translator? Or send for one if they need it..

Must have been a hell for him the last hours.. no idea what is going on. afraid..
lovelykiki was he really 10 hours in that airport? and no translator? .. I hope thats not true.

CBSA report gives timeline for Taser death in Vancouver
The Canada Border Services Agency has released more details about the night Robert Dziekanski died after he was shocked with an RCMP Taser at Vancouver International Airport on Oct. 14.

The report released Monday afternoon in Vancouver gives a timeline for the more than nine-hour period between Dziekanski's arrival at the customs hall in the international terminal of Vancouver International Airport, and his death shortly after 1 a.m. PT the next morning.
