Re: 100 years from now - The effects of rising seas

That's still a lot of displaced people.

eak my home! *pouts* both of them :< (london and southampton) they could be flooded.. i wonder what they took into account when they made that modle though. hmm they say antar5ctic.. isnt that just a huge ice-berg? if it is so and not on any landmas then it wouldnt bee that terrible when it melts because of the displacement of water, greenland will make a big impact on the worlds oceans though..

Re: 100 years from now - The effects of rising seas

Are you sure that is population in white? I didn't see any in Australia or some other areas I would think would have some people in high population. *shrugs*

I think it is population density, there's no ice in London and there's tons of white on the map for london! hehe

Re: 100 years from now - The effects of rising seas

Hmm, good point
Maybe this map takes into account the stopping/slowing of the gulf stream, then it'd get cold here.

At the moment though, it's getting warmer.

Re: 100 years from now - The effects of rising seas

The white is population density. 100 years best outlook is a tad over the top when its possible we could steady global warming within a few years.

Unfortunatly folk dont seem to want to know about things untill they land on thier doorstep (and even then they ignore it as best they can) so its entirely possible it will get worse than whats on the map.
