![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: The capture of Lord British .... Thats what I thought... But then again perhaps it is different on other shards? The rumor I heard is that he was 86'd by an actual player way back in the old days. Speaking of interaction with NPCs... Can they be killed? Assuming you somehow avoid getting guard whacked? ![]() You might be a geek if you quote some obscure 16th century German philosopher... You ARE a geek if you quote it in German... -Some unknown 16th century German philosopher |

Take it for what it's worth. You can probably find the interview by doing a search on Garriott or Long. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Rhus Radicans; 4th May 2006 at 04:12 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | ||

"Our King approached to the gateway, stepped into the Void with the wayward shards, and was gone." ... read the complete World News article here -> Britannia News Network, Farewell to the King by Rourke, Town Cryer Guildmaster Dec 19 2003 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As for the famous incident where Lord British is assassinated in Ultima Online ... Assassination of Lord British ![]() One of the most famous characteristics of Lord British is that he is supposed to be indestructible. In every Ultima game that he has appeared in, he is designed to be unkillable by the player character. However, there are ways for a player "thinking outside the box" to assassinate him.

![]() ![]() | Re: The capture of Lord British .... Where can one find the history/Storyline behind LB's current role on Sonoma? I'd like to follow these events and see how it plays into everything. We did a similar thing on Siege and half the shard participated in one manner or another. In the end, myself and a blind Knight of the Silver Serpent found Lord British held captive in the Void and killed him there. Seems the Daemons there had been controlling his Tyrannical actions over the year. Keep us posted, KD.. perhaps even post what happens next in the Dry Stein forum? ![]() Edit: If any Sonoma-unique history behind Lord British's dissappearance/role is in player written or NPC books rather than posted somewhere.. could somebody point me in that direction instead? ![]() | Re: The capture of Lord British .... sorry guys, had login probs so couldnt reply to this till now ... out of character now .... to answer a few questions .... Yes this is a shard wide event open to anyone wanting to participate. Yes, even reds (I expect that we will attempt to move the prisoner from the remote location to the court, wherever the judge determines that to be, several times, all in fel). No, the verdict is not predetermined, in fact, the only predetermined things are that Maddwg is the judge (and he's promised to be fair and to rp the part as he sees Maddwg would act), and we do have a Sonoma player to play the Lord British character (and hes promised to play it straight, as he thinks LB would play it). I expect prominent citizens would be called to testify for and against LB, and again the judge will control everything .. he will determine if a jury trial makes sense, or just the one judge, or more judges, whatever ... he will determine process, whats allowed, not allowed during the trial, he sets everything, then everyone plays their parts and we see how it all ends up. I promise some surprise witnesses, and some wild ones to boot ... it should be fun for reporters, players, attorneys, the judge, and even LB. Hope that helps set the stage for this. PAS' s role will be to provide counsel to prosecute LB (with Maddwgs blessing), and then to provide witnesses, and to provide security during the trial. I hope to heck everyone tries to get involved, it should be a blast. KD |
