Stealthing in Despise: A Rat's Tail

I live for the sneaky snatch. The clandestine coup. The tricksy theft. I am a rat.

No, really – I am currently scurrying around Felucca as a rodent. I don’t really need the boost to stealth, given my +30 suite of jewelry, a pair of Shadow Dancers and a Burglar’s Bandana, but it fits this particular persona.

I’m not named Jack of All Trades, but I benefit from it. Just last night, I stealthed into Despise past a pair of industrious fellow blues madly working the spawn. I was impressed by the speed at which a wraith-formed necromancer was able to advance the spawn to level 3. With his blue healing companion, I thought they might actually irritate the champion himself before FL crashed.

I was wrong. You’d think a necromancer would learn to Exorcise. There is no chance that the guild of reds arrived on the scene by chance just before Lord Barracoon (with whom I obviously share an affinity) made his appearance.

Similarly, I would have expected a competent group like FL to cast a few extra reveals around the standard altar hiding places. I had to wiggle a few times, but I was never spotted.

For my troubles, I received a couple of 105s and a 110 archery. I also grabbed a few thousand gold (curse you, BOS) and let a fellow thief on a merry chase around the altar. I have nothing but contempt for dogs, and this one was scratching around the Rat King’s corpse for choice items. It would probably have been amusing for an outside to observe the two of us popping in and out of visibility while we scavenged the leavings of FL. I made a number of attempts to see what my fellow looter had acquired, but JOAT failed me. He took offense and started quartering the altar area. I was already on the bridge by that point, and it was clear he had neither the magery nor the stealth to compete.

Perhaps next time, after I build up my ninjitsu, I shall punish him for his arrogance.
