*Thank you Lady Dame Judi for the story snippet.

Giant Bagball Twist Relay ...

Giant Bagball Twist Relay
Saturday April 22, 2006
Grand Arena, Luna, Malas
*Estimated time noted.

Springtime brings the desire for outdoor fun and the 2006 Spring Festival planners have organized an event with just that in mind. The Giant Bagball Twist Relay at the Grand Arena located right outside the south area of Luna city will begin approximately at 1:45pm PT.

Picture a Grand Arena scene where assigned colored bagball teams separate into groups, and team members' line up at opposite ends of the twisted bagball maze. As the players stare at one another with determination to beat the opposing bagball teams the spectators cheer them on with excitement. Suddenly, a hush settles over the arena field and the sound of the GO whistle is heard!

At the starting point, team members who are first in line move as fast as possible towards their teammates waiting at the opposite end of the maze. Under the watchful eyes of referees, the players' feet trip over opposing team members, their elbows jab each other and snarls of perseverance ring out. All are focused on the colored bagballs that weigh more than one can barely pick up before their stamina loss brings it back down with a thump!

What is their goal? To be the first to get their team colored bagball to their teammate who is waiting at the end of the twisted bagball maze. Once delivered the next teammate in line brings it back through the maze to the starting point of the relay, repeating as often as there are team members.

Sounds like lots of fun!! If you want to participate all you need to do is register at the Grand Arena in Luna this Saturday, starting 1:30pm PT. (Registration closes at 1:45pm or when the maximum of 20 players is reached).
General Rules -- (Maximum 5 teams - 4 members per team - 20 players)
Participants will each receive a team robe assigned to specific colored bagball representing their teams' color.
  • Team members must wear their designated team colored robe during the bagball event.
  • Teams will repeat the relay course based on the number of team members in the group.
Example: Teams of four members (the maximum allowed) will relay the bagball four times.
  1. The first team member delivers the designated team colored bagball to the team member waiting at the end of the maze.
  2. Once at the end of the maze, the next team member resumes the relay by going back through the maze to the opposite line delivering the bagball to the next teammate.
  3. The next in line team member drags the bagball back through the maze again to the waiting teammate at the end of the maze.
  4. The last teammate then hurries through the maze to the finish line for the win! (Making 4 relays through the maze.)
Three member teams will relay their bagball three times, two member teams will relay their bagball two times, and single opponents will deliver the ball once from start to finish of the maze.

Relay Team Eliminations
  • Round One Relay Elimination - The first 3 teams (players if single opponents) to complete the number of relays according to team size moves on to the next round.
  • Round Two Relay Elimination - The first 2 teams (players if single opponents) to complete the number of relays according to team size moves on to the next round.
  • Champions Round Elimination - The first team (player if single opponents) to complete the number of relays according to team size wins the Spring Festival 2006 Giant Bagball Twist Relay championship.
Penalties: The actions listed below will incur a penalty on the player(s)/team(s) performing the action. When a referee declares a penalty the game will stop and the penalized player(s)/team(s) will go back to their starting position. A referee will signal the continuation of the relay.
  • Holding onto the bagball for more than 5 seconds without also visibly dragging it
  • Using trade window to pass the bagball to the next teammate
  • Intentional blocking opponents bagball(s) with items, text spam, or any other manner
  • The use of spells or magic of any sorts (other than Night Sight)
  • The use of potions of any kind
  • The use of weapons or attacking another player on field
  • The using of stealing or hiding skills
  • The use of pets, including ethereal mounts
  • Moving bagball(s) outside the playing field
  • Dropping additional bagballs on the field
  • Excessive unsportsmanlike behavior
*All decisions of the referees are final. The above list is subject to change before the event and the misuse of the general rules listed will disqualify players/teams. Adaptation of penalty rules and arena graphic derived from UO - Age of Shadows.

Awards
  • Each team member of the elimination rounds receives an award. (Three players if single opponents).
  • Each team member of the "Champions of the Giant Bagball Twist Relay" receives an additional award. (One player if single opponents).
** Event Time Zones: 10:30am HI - 12:30pm AK - 1:30pm PT - 2:30pm MT - 3:30pm CT - 4:30pm ET

Exclamation Moonglow Bank Robbed!! Bounty Hunt ~ Dead or Alive

Bounty Hunt ~ Dead or Alive
Saturday April 22, 2006
Whereabouts unknown
*Estimated time noted.

Moonglow Bank Robbed!!

While the people of Sonoma were out tending to their day to day lives, many as usual had stopped on their way home at the bank of Moonglow.
Last evening, just after the guards left for their supper break at the local pub, Lizzy Bloodbath and Chester McMann raced into the bank with their weapons drawn and ordered everyone to the floor. The local citizens in shock, and fearing for their lives, moved swiftly to follow the robbers' commands. As Lizzy Bloodbath kept an eye on the good citizens of Sonoma, Chester McMann demanded gold and jewels from the bank teller who promptly handed over a large sack containing all of the day's deposits.

Just as Lizzy Bloodbath and Chester McMann backed towards the door with their ill-gotten gains Lady Dame Judi, beloved sister of Queen Mum, walked into the bank with her mind only on paying her never ending tax bill. She startled Lizzy Bloodbath who in a panic turned and struck Lady Dame Judi down on the spot.
As the two stepped over the lifeless body of the gracious Lady Dame Judi, Chester McMann looked over at Lizzy Bloodbath and said, "no one shall be left alive to tell". Just then the guards arrived back from their supper and hearing the cries from the bank drew their swords to deal with whatever they were about to confront. Chester McMann and Lizzy Bloodbath also heard the guards coming and decided to make a run for it, mounting their sturdy steeds they raced away riding due South on the Moonglow trail.

The local Sargent of the Guards reported that they are very familiar with Chester McMann and Lizzy Bloodbath, and that Chester McMann enjoys the taste of good ale brew while Lizzy Bloodbath has a fancy for sparkling jewels. "These two evil felons, Chester McMann and Lizzy Bloodbath are considered armed and extremely dangerous!"

The distressed citizens of Sonoma have rallied together to help find these evil criminals by paying off the dreadful duo's accomplices (vendors) for information. You can help capture these wanted snakes in the grass by unscrambling the book clues found on these merchant informants (vendors) in and around the local town of Luna. These clues are not easy to unscramble since the vendor owners, Chester McMann and Lizzy Bloodbath, cleverly concealed what may be inside the pages and there is no sense of order with the book titles.

The people of Sonoma plea for your help in capturing these two foul, villainous, and murdering thieves. A bounty of One MILLION GOLD PIECES is on their heads! Bring them to justice, DEAD or ALIVE!

Participation:
  • Meet at the Grand Arena after the Animal Critter Scramble to receive further instructions from Queen Mum. (About 3:30pm PT)
  • By participating in this event, means you are willing to travel anywhere to find these scoundrels including the Felucca facet.
Rules of Capture:
  • Unscramble the clues given as book titles found on special BOUNTY HUNTER vendors located in and around Luna town. *Clues will not be available until near the time of the event.
  • Be the first to find both Chester McMann and Lizzy Bloodbath to win.
  • When found either make Chester McMann and Lizzy Bloodbath give up their engraved pouches or take them off their corpses. Once the two engraved pouches, and their contents, are in hand, deliver them to Queen Mum at the Colliseum in Umbra (location of final Festival event) for the One Million Gold Pieces as your Reward!
  • The hunt for Chester McMann and Lizzy Bloodbath will run for about an hour.

** Event Time Zones: 12:30pm HI - 2:30pm AK - 3:30pm PT - 4:30pm MT - 5:30pm CT - 6:30pm ET

Wink PvP Gladiators 4 Da Win!!

PvP Gladiators 4 Da Win!!
Saturday April 22, 2006
The Colliseum, Umbra, Malas
*Estimated time noted.

In Umbra there is a very large arena where as many fighters who desire to do so can do battle, while spectators watch from the tribunes that surround them. To round out the many events presented for the Spring Festival 2006 precedence will be set with the staging of the very first PvP Gladiators 4 Da Win competition in the Umbra Colliseum.
Event is scheduled for: *1:30pm HI - 3:30pm AK - 4:30pm PT - 5:30pm MT - 6:30pm CT - 7:30pm ET

This is a PvP tournament to the death but set in Malas (Umbra) with Trammel rules. There are a few rules that are not negotiable. Participants must abide by these rules in order for the tournament to run smoothly. "There are no ifs ands or buts about it", said the event organizers from the Dark Star Rangers [DSR] and the Hunters of Glory [HOG] guilds. If by some reason you cannot follow one of these rules or agree to them, then you will not be able to compete. These rules are set to make it fun AND protect the person that is competing.
Rules: This is a free for all - 1vs1 tournament.
  • Allowed: Artifacts and Potions of any kind
  • NOT Allowed: Pets of any kind
So come in your best-decked gear you can think of or make. Just keep in mind to repair all your items before hand. We would not want you to see something break during the match.
  • If you plan to compete, YOU MUST QUIT YOUR GUILD.
This rule is set in stone. This is non-negotiable. "Why?" It is to guarantee that no one is competing that does not want to compete. Just because the event is in Malas does not imply that all players are free from grieving.
  • Fight until the death.
This might be a learning experience for some, a test of skills for others. Just try to do your best regardless of why. Show no mercy when the match starts. (We know it is hard to have that kind of mind set in Malas for some but lets just bear with it).
  • Competitors will be randomly selected, then escorted to the stage arena by the Director.
Once the bout is finished, there are two stations for contestants, the winners station, and the losers station. Please be courteous and follow the Directors to the station that you belong. We will be resurrecting the losers and ensuring that nothing is looted that should not be. Also to be on the safe side we ask that the contestants INSURE everything that they consider valuable.
  • Leave the furniture alone
There is nothing more annoying than having someone take furniture, move it or keep it when it was meant to be there to provide an area or border for a function. The moment a participant takes a piece of furniture, which is not a Director or an event organizer, they WILL be DISQUALIFIED. Please remember that players have taken their own free time to set this up. They have planned this ahead of time and sacrificed one thing or another to make this happen for all of us. Be courteous and leave things where they should be. It is that simple and we do thank you.
  • No faction members allowed.
We apologize for this trouble, however to make this event available for almost everyone it had to be set in Malas. The waiting period for leaving factions is another reason why we have to do it this way. We apologize if your best PvP character is in factions. Some of our own are as well.

*RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

We hope you will enjoy the PvP Gladiators 4 Da Win! Tournament and we anticipate many of you will have a first time PvPing experience during this event.

This event was designed for all to have FUN and test our skills in combat in a reasonably controlled public setting. It is meant to be acceptable for ALL persons. Remember just because it is in Malas does not mean that we cannot have PvP with honor.

With that being said now for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow:
  • First place- 1 million gold pieces
  • Second place- 500K gold pieces
We thank the Peoples Army of Sonoma [PAS] for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
