Coming back to UO & Sonoma

Recently I've gotten the desire to play UO again and have decided to return to the game. I played from launch until 2001, then again for a brief spell in 2005. Though I highly doubt there is anyone left around who would remember me (Veldrane, Ishan, Adum Oakenshield).

So could someone give me the run down on active guilds that still accept new members? I'm looking for a friendly group of people to hunt, socialize with, etc.

Also, if anyone could give me a run down on the general state of Sonoma I'd be appreciative. The population of the server seems to be one of the lower ones, so any info that could direct me on where to get involved in the community is going to be a plus.

Queen Mum is a good place to start for Sonoma Community stuff. Also, if you wander through New Haven, you're bound to encounter H.E.L.P. guildmembers, who are all about assisting new players.

This weekend, HELP ran a concerted effort to guide the entire shard through the Massacre event storyline.

Yes, I ran into a member of H.E.L.P this weekend. I think her name was Darla. Extremely nice person, she pointed me in the right direction for a few things.

I think I'm going to take a week or two to get the hang of all the changes then may an effort to find a guild. It looks like there are a lot of things going in the game that require a group of people to do that I would like to be involved with.

The Adum Oakenshield names sounds very familiar ....

There are several active recruiting guilds which hold different functions ....

PAS, KVP, KHV, OSG .... (those are off the top of head), try looking here for more ideas ...
