I don't know how many of you are fans of the legendary film "The Dark Crystal", but as more & more information regarding the coming sequel is released, I am once again revisiting a story I have loved for so many years.

I had a thought to incorporate the Skeksis into UO in a manner that would allow for some occasional fun with alternate characters. It would be RP in manner, but not in absolution as the Skeksis obviously have nothing to do with the Ultima universe (but then again neither do dwarves).

Dark Crystal!! Yes of course I am familar I LOVE that movie it is amazing! I heard about them making a Dark Crystal 2 or least Jim Henson's son is anyway... or wants too not sure if they are going to continue it. I think it was him who wanted too, but anyway...

I would join but I rarely do anything in the current guild I am in now, mostly because I do not like others to see how bad of a UO'er I am ^_^ hehe keeps me from embressing myself =P

Jim Henson's family has gone ahead with not only the sequel, which will debut at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, but also an animated television short series which will air soon to the sequel's theatrical release. Tokyopop (even though I'm not really big into anime) will also be releasing a graphic novel early next year. The merchandising (something the original film sorely lacks even to this day) is just going to grow, which is good for fans such as ourselves.

The sequel itself sounds as though it is a very, very large project. When I first read it was in the works I initially cringed and thought of a quickly made, overly CGI film with a poorly written script..which is what the Lord of the Rings films were to me. But then when I read that Brian Froud was again doing the conceptual art & design, and that puppetry and animatronics would again be used and the CGI would used to enhance them, I was pleased and have been looking forward to it since. From what I've read, the sophistication of the puppets and animatronics is leaps & bounds beyond the originals while still retaining the same "feel" so yeah, I really am looking forward to it.

Someone told me to duel them in-game once and I said, "HmmmmMmMmmMmmmmm... Trial by stone." He didn't understand the reference. Oh well.

haha that is awesome news! I am so glad that they are going to bring stuff out on it and the original artist was amazing and glad he again is going to be apart of it!

And yeah refrencing Dark Crystal most shrug and think your a freak but hey who cares as long as your enjoying yourself!

Hmm tv anime series? I am not an anime person neither but I will be more willing than to check it out. I mean I do not like to turn my back on something I have never witnessed first hand you know?

Just like Transformers this new movie, I loved the original ones so might as well go ahead and take a stab at it and check it out. Though I doubt it is going to be any good =( They have changed so many looks of the originals and such as it is... do not think it will be any good.

But anyway back to Dark Crystal! I am sure if they get everyone who actually cares about the movie such as the original artist and his family into it they will do a good job. Yeah there might be "some" computer stuff but I mean they will still use Puppets and it will totally rock! I hope to hear more about it... all I heard was "We are making a squeal to Dark Crystal" and that was it... I wanted to hear more! I hope the music will also be done by the same artist too. Though haha you want to know something kind of funny the music is pretty much the same sheet of music only done with diffrent instraments. The only one I think he mensioned that was "diffrent" was the part with Bogglings or was it Poddlings? Bah can not recall, Stinky! Oh well you know what I am talking about ^_^

But anyway I hope your guild kicks in for yeah! That would be so cool and be sure to take screenshots!

Yes, Trevor Jones has been signed (last I read) to do the musical score for the sequel. He composed the original's soundtrack as well..which..I still have not been able to get my hands on the limited edition CD.

Why not make a character here on Napa for the guild? Not looking for total commitment here. Play as often as you like. Be a good break from Atlantic, Stuffa, Jorval, Barton.....

I once made a joke about all the "Essence of..." characters on Napa. When some of our very mature PvPers gets banned they will recreate their character and name it "Essence of Potluck" if the original was "Potluck", et cetera. We were discussing this..er..phenomenon, and I suggested "Essence of Gelfling". It was not well recieved by the PvP community.

I can imagen you Terrance doing that Charlie Brown, "Oh good grief" look when you see me playing! I am probably the worst UO player out there hahaha! (Not that I try just seems that way...) You be hiding or running off the screen going, "Oh man what did I get myself into?" That is why I never asked Ally, Damin, or keven1 because I do not want to kill them incase I do something stupid... which is alot of the time. I do not try too but yeah I am not so... good.

PvP Woo! I be Cannon Fodder! I am all for it even though I will be one of the first PvP'ers to fight nakid for I will run out of insurance money and be yoinked!

But does sound like alot of fun! I think I might try out Napa Valley it probably 100 times less populated so that is ALWAYS a good factor!
