Last night the first Conclave of Barons met at the Desert Palace. Citizens from all walks of life came to the palace to offer their services or to just listen to what the Conclave will offer the people of Lake Superior.

"Of the shard, for the shard", is the motto of the Conclave. I have been the fortunate soul selected to introduce the Conclave to the populace. It was my pleasure to explain the goals and purpose of the Conclave last night.

Three Baronships were granted last night. The cities of Trinsic, Umbra, and Zento were the first ones claimed. The next meeting will be on Monday, October 9th at 9:30 eastern. At that meeting the Royal Army will be selecting a leader and the official uniform. The Conclave will discuss the first announced event, adding new Barons, accepting petitions for help from any citizens for events, and answering questions. It is our goal to have 30 plus Barons within the coming year.

To become a Baron you must come with a staff of three. The person selected to be the Baron, a person to be appointed Ambassador, and a person to enlist in the Royal Army. The reason for the requirement of three people is so that you prove you have the personnel to run an event. Each Baron is required to run an event in their selected city at least once a year. They must also aid another Baron at least two times a year in the other Baron's events. The conclave will match funds of approved events that Barons run. Lord British has given me 200,000,000 gold to help with this task. All three personnel of the Baronship must attend the meetings. If a Baron falls under three they will be given 60 days to enlist the required number before they will be removed from office.

The position of Baron is open to all. There will be no discrimination.

People not associated with Barons are also welcome. They can work with the Conclave in a number of ways. They can also join staffs of specific Barons.

Each event sponsored must be voted on by the Conclave. If it is voted accpetable matching funds are availible. Barons are automatically matched 1-1 in gold for prize money and prizes if the event is passed by the Conclave. Individuals or groups that petition the Conclave are also eligible to the maximum of 1-1 gold matching but has to be approved by the Conclave and the match is also decided by the Conclave.

Now for the news of the first Conclave sponsored event.

Circe the Baroness of Umbra will be holding a Halloween event. The details of her event will be coming in the next few days. Lord British has authorized me to put up an additional 100,000,000 gold just for this Halloween event.

That will still leave the original 200,000,000 for future events.

This means there will be over 100,000,000 gold in prizes for the first event, I am told that is not all that will be part of this event. But additional information will be forthcoming by Circe once the Conclave and her have worked out the details.
