Leia is Being Impersonated--Be Careful!

Well it finally happened to me. I found a player at Luna Bank that is dressed in purkle but not MY purkle and has the Name Leia with [|HOT] guild initials and saying she is the Auction Owner, Ice Cove and H.O.T. Auctions.

My guild is [IHOT] and it says I am Auction Owner, IceCove & H.O.T. Auctions.

PLEASE be careful and verify who you are submitting items to before you do outside of the H.O.T. or Ice Cove Auction houses. Thank you and I hope nobody gets scammed.

What a dilemma you are facing ...

How do folks contact you about putting items in for auction?
Has purple always been your color for guild?
Do you drop SEALED books around LA with information about the auction and how to contact you directly for sales/submitting blocks?

Might be wise to drop SEALED books around letting folks know that there is an imposter and how to reach you directly until this twit goes away.

Had it happen to me on Ches. As it turned out he was a duper. Wilki contacted me to make sure it wasn't my account.
I'd still like to find the guy in RL. All I need is 10 minutes.....just 10 minutes....argghh thinking of that trash just ticks me off. Folks work hard for an in game rep.

Queen Mum...I use a web site for the auction information (www.hotauctions.org), staff list, items up for bid, etc. I also have sealed books with the rules and information at the auction house.

I've been doing the auctions for 5 years or so and this is the first time I have ever been impersonated. A friend said that I was now an icon is why.

That's not why at all. Somebody was hoping people would submit items to them for the auction and they would keep them and I would get a bad rep.

I reported it to the GMs and hopefully they will be forced to change name and guild name. It was clearly a blatant attempt to scam people.
