I'm completely new to UO - I started with playing about 2.5 weeks ago.
ok, and that was the first lie. I'm not THAT completely new to UO. I've played it 10 years ago - for maybe about 1.5 years. I just remember the introduction and upcoming of Trammel and the housing-rush. Somewhen after this I left UO and played me through many MMORPG's until right now. Now I'm back. And it is like being completely new. With Haven, UOKR, the new landmasses aso. After playing for about one week, the old UO feeling came back. Great thing it is!

The first thing I remember, when I came back these days - was Paidric and Minerva Foxglove. They wanted me to use some really nice weapons and to wear some cool armor. Thank you both, the [HLP]-guild and all of the Europa-members for donating that great things for us noobs! - it makes life MUCH easier.

My first char on Europa was Angus, a Samurai - learning Bushido (of course ) and Blacksmithy/Miner. At this time I didn't read all of the hints from [HLP]-guild. So I didn't recognize the possibility to buy the skills up to 40 and then to train them in Old Haven, the bibliothek and the smithy in some special enhanced zones to go up to 50%. I was not satisfied with Angus and I started with Asleif.

Asleif is my mage - he took care of most of the possibilities to skill faster and he is a scribe too (I think this is the most common combination right now in UO )

Ok, that's it for the introduction of mine. I do not want to be a member of a guild right now. First of all I want to reach 7x100. Then I will think about it again - SAOR or SOAR is already in my mind..

Haven still seems to be a busy place these days. I really like it. And I like my newly bought and built! house. Yes, I've bought some house for 77,000 bucks and I've found some nice place east of Yew. My house is of 9x13, 3 stories design. I already have built my house (additional 240,000 bucks) and now I want to decorate it - Oh yes, and that's where YOU come into the game...

I need some furniture - and of course I will pay for it.
(I've already been on some shopping-tours, but I've found only a few things that fit my design) - and you will see, that I'm searching for Elven-style things. They are elegant. I like them.

So here is a "first" list of things I need:

8x Cozy Elven chair
1x Elegant low table
4x Ornate Elven chair
2x Reading chair
1x Alchemist table
1x Arcane bookshelf
1x Elven washbasin
1x Gilded wooden chest
1x Ornate Elven chest
1x Wooden footlocker

Well, I would appreciate to get an offer from you. Or maybe you give me the coordinates from your vendors - and I'll give them a try. I'm NOT reachable by using ICQ - I kicked this tool many years ago (right after I stopped playing UO)
I'm using the UOKR-client and maybe we could do some ingame chat!?

I managed to find all of the magery-scrolls for circles 5-7 on my own. And then I've bought the circle-8-spells. I like to explore and that's how I play. the same with my runebooks. I've already made some on my own and started to collect runes to see new places. I do not want to use the - really great! - rune-bibliotheks, it's more fun for me to find ways to where ever on my own.

And at last I've some questions - and maybe you can answer them:

1.) What is an "engraving tool"?
2.) Can I create spellbooks with additional stats on it on my own (ie +5 intelligence, xxx slayer aso)? - If yes, how?
3.) Do I really need the skill "Focus" as a mage? (does the faster mana-recovery from "Focus" stack with "Meditation"?) - If not, is Spellweaving a good option for Asleif? -Or does this skill need additional skills for it to work really good?
4.) I'm using the UOKR-client - and there are MANY errors in it. I'm used to be a beta-tester for the last 8 years (remember: explorations and such...) and I want help to improve this client. Is there a possibility to send the errors to .. someone? If yes - To whom should I send them and how?
5.) I'm not an english-native-speaker, so please ignore and overlook my bad english - thank you!

So, that's it so far. I'll check this forums almost every day - except I'm on holidays.
