Shop Owners !!Stop taking marked runes to overwrite them!!

If I like the shop, I keep the rune for it. If not, I just hang on to the rune to remark it later at some point.

Really, the only options I see are either 1: just go gate to your shop or 2: have your vendors/auction well known enough that people will want to keep your runes.

I drop runes for my shop, and it's a fact of life that some will get stolen. Cost of advertising. No need to get my panties in a bunch over it. It happens in real life too - people tear down your advertising flyers or post their own up over yours. People throw your expensive advertising (aka "junk mail") in the recycle bin without even reading it... it's just the way it is.

As a player, I grab one of every shop rune I can find and check out the shop. If it's a good shop, I'll drop it in my vendor runebook. If not, I keep it and remark it.

Exactly, mostly 'cause I'm too lazy to stop and buy some. But in the end I probably keep 50% as "I'll visit this later" rune which ends up having 1-3 vendors that are empty.

Whatever is on the ground at Luna bank is a free for all. However, I've seen some runes renamed in obscene things, and that is something I have an issue with.

That's why I mark actual house runes for my vendor shop. Those can't be renamed. They can be marked over, but can't just be renamed.

I too have seen people rename runes with obscenities. (Well, I've seen the runes themselves - I've never actually caught anybody doing it).
