Damn you! Damn you all!!!

The plea for help sent by M’Lady Tabbitha goes unanswered. The plea sent by me goes unanswered. One of your own now probably lies dead under the ruins of Haven and what did you do to try and save her? Nothing! You who call yourselves virtuous, hah! What do you know of virtue? No compassion, no humility, no sacrifice. Nothing but selfish ambition. How can you call yourselves paragons of virtue when you do nothing to help one of your own? How can you pontificate and lecture others who you perceive to be un-virtuous when you do not even understand the concept of virtue? Call yourselves Knights? Knights have honour, you all have nothing but shame! I will not give up my search. One way or another I will find M’Lady.

Hear this now and hear it well. If M’Lady Tabbitha is not found alive, I damn you all! I damn your souls to pain and suffering for all eternity! I damn your souls to the demons of chaos! You deserve nothing better!

Serpentine's Library

Even though being blind Durinka could “see” the surprise. Or was it “feel” the surprise? The others probably did not realize she was not just a blind guardian of Eska’eldalie, she could still defend it or… make a dangerous journey to help a fellow elf, Kirtian.
The Journey to visit the Library of her friend Serpentine was not just a journey there. It was a challenge for all who seeked the wisdom of his small Library, a challenge that when performed successfully meant one was worthy to enter Serpentine’s valley. When not successful it simply meant one got lost or worse… died before ever setting foot in the valley.
But these were elves. And a very brave human, Lydia. The challenge was forfilled successfully. Sometimes they moved only slowly allowing Durinka to find her way through the swamp without having someone hold her hand. She used the sound of their footsteps, following it without hesitation, knowing the others would protect her from whatever jumped up from the swamp. Not that she needed protection any more then the others did. Ever since she turned blind she and her friend Rana practiced her fighting skills constantly. She had accepted her blindness and learned to see things in a different manner.
In the Valley of Serpentine Durinka spoke with the dragon and led all into his library where Ruadnit searched and found the second of three books which hopefully held the key to find a cure for Kirtians odd illness.


Part II

Sources of the magic.

Previous part explain a bit about magic in our world. Till there will creatures which have magic – magic will work in our world and the screed which keep world of Death separate from our will stay. Magic in our world present in lot of creatures and objects. the objects with magic abilities will explained in this book.

1. Magical ingredients.

Itself magical ingredients have not internal magical power, mages use their own power to use it with verbal component to make their magic. However – when mage invoke his/her magic, this ingredients resaive new properties different from others. Ingredients are mostly safe for holder and can be used without skill in magic.

2. Enchanted Magical items.

Well... what we usually call magical items? Somebody use a part of its magic to give item new properties. Such items usually have limited time of use and are very common. We still have a lot of mages who can enchant even a simple stick to powerful wand! but very often such items are completely out of use for those who skilled enough. Lets rest such items to those who are newbie in using magic. The enchanting itself is very difficult and not the theme of this book.

3. Magic in items.

not lot of item in the world have it's own internal power. Usually they come here outside. or contains power of those who left our world but have power and it rest in this items. The dargon's blood is one of these items – dragons are magical creatures and once you get a pile of it – it still contains the power of dragon! depend of type of dragon it was gathering it can be use in spells with nature power – fire, earth, cold or wind. The item which come from world of death or belong to this world. Usually it have negative effects. For example the finger of the dead dread lord can be used for eliminate magic on victim – and simple touch sometimes left victim without magic for few hours! In case it will pound into powder and mixed with daemon blood, garlic in equal proportions and someone drink it – the victim lost all his magic for few weeks! but it was just an example. We know lot of alchemist use bones and sculls in spells and rituals. Blood of daemons, dead woods and such have its internal powers and can be used to fulfill will of the experienced mage. Some of magicians spend all their life to learn about the items. However! all experiments with wild sources of magic encapsulated on them are dangerous. Use your knowledge wisely.
