Just wanted to stop by and say hi!

Started last night on this shard and am looking for some advice really ;)

I've never played UO before so im a complete newb....i know some of you prob think im crazy but after playing a string of other MMO's im after something a little bit different and after speaking to friends n reading some stuff i think UO could be for me.

Is Europa a good shard for newbs to play on?

Its the closest to me i think and i doubt / hope lag wont be an issue here as much as it is in other titles, but whats the player base like? Are there many newbs playing on Europa? are there any guilds that are newb friendly that you could recomend? Is there a mentor programme like in other games that have been set up by the players / devs?

Or in your opinion am i better moving over to xxxxx shard before i get to involved in my toons here.

Any help would be appreciated, like I said im a complete newb and atm im having problems finding complete newb guides n stuff as well....main problem is the ones that appear for me in google assume the player has played before or knows the lands quite well, then ofc its difficult to see which guides are actually upto date and have the correct info. Any links you guys think might help would be more than welcome as well

Anyways I'll stop with the newb drivvle for now and hope that one of you kind people out there can help me out

As for Europa there is a Guild in Haven which you will see the initials HLP over their avatars. They spend a lot of time helping new players.

Also i try to spend as much time as i can work permitting and when not beating back the demons in Magincia atm helping out there.

As for which shard to play on,if your from Europe then i would say go for Europa as thats very active and i have seen a lot of players moving here from Drachenfels etc. If your from the US or that way then maybe try on of their shards.

There should be a ingame tutorial when you start.

About how many newbies there are.. there are surely a few and I think Europa is fairly active.. shouldnt really try any other shard till you get to know the game a bit, since you said EU shard is closest to you = less lag will help

About guilds Im not sure at moment, but im sure someone here can tell you a good one

rufflor welcome to the uof and as i happen to be on alantic someone here will definitly help you out .As for the tutorial in the begining take it like a grain of salt ou will learn more the first hour you play.good luck

Hmm i think maybe ive missed something then...

Would not having UOKR installed change the tutorial area for me, dont recall seeing the option for one *runs off to make a new toon to check*
