![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Elendrik’s visit to Sword and Shovel Elendrik’s visit to Sword and Shovel by Concordia On Tuesday, June, 14th, when the night was late and only a few guests remained in the Sword and Shovel tavern, something has happened. Concordia the waitress could swear that a few seconds ago that seat was empty, and now someone was there. From the first glance she understood that he was not an ordinary man. He wore a dark hooded robe with gold welting. ![]() And everyone in Sosaria knows that the secret art of sewing hoods to robes is not known to ordinary people. But his words were quite ordinary: – Could I have an ale, please? I've been walking around the world a bit - pretty tired. Thought I'd see what was happening in old Valoria. Smiles appeared at the faces of the people. We Valorians are always happy to host guests from other lands. Meanwhile, the robed man continued: – Oh, I've been watching for many years... And just walking through today. What with the things discovered in Britain... The waitress nodded to him and greeted another guest, Ian Ironbow, the sergeant of the Valorian guard. – How was your watch, Ian? – Hard, - Ian answered. - I stayed at watch in the museum. – Is the new exhibition open? Ian shook his head. – You have a museum here? – the stranger asked. - I am interested in history. I shall be sure to take a little walk there, in future. – When the exhibition officially opens, we'll send the advertisement to Sosarian Morning Poste, - the waitress promised. – Ah yes, I read a copy of that paper, - the robed man answered. - After finishing my ale, I'll have to talk my warning of dire events elsewhere. Then the conversation shifted to local gossip. They discussed the casting trees that grow in these lands and attack good citizens, and also discussed the methods of fighting them. Then they talked about tea and agreed that the best tea is blended by elves. Also, the guest introduced himself: ![]() – I am the Watcher Elendrik. – You's watch... things? – asked Shaouli, a young gipsy girl. Elendrik nodded. – I have little power to interact with... – he waved his hand - All this. But I see things that happen. I know when things are going to happen. And I predict that... things are going to... change. Concordia thought that having that little power to interact did not prevent him from the close interaction with a mug of their finest ale. – Oh... change? – asked Salomon Majere, the librarian, - I read in the last times... things about prophets... and strange oracles... ![]() – Yes...And, according to some red-cloaked people in Britain, there's something in the Sewers. And then there's the matter of that book that everyone mysteriously received. – I have a copy in the Library... Nystul himself wrote it... they said… – In the Sewers? Salomon, and you will keep telling us that there are no sewers in Valoria?! – Concordia asked. – In Britain, - said Elendrik. - So I assume you are safe. – I was last week buying books... – Salomon said. - And saw strange people in the bank, waiting… But I don’t know for what... They seem strange but... good people. – I think they are concerned citizens. – Elendrik replied, and then almost made a coughing laugh. - However, we'll see... – Let's try to be optimistic. – Concordia said. - Some changes were not bad at all... When the elves came and dried the swamp, wasn't it good? -I am afraid of changes,but... we live in interested times... - The librarian smiled - That used to be and ancient curse. Ye know? "May you live in interesting times" – I believe that was one of Inu the Crone’s favourite… - started Elendrik but quickly trailed off. - It seems that I'm being called... I thank you for your time... And hope whatever this event is... It leaves you untouched. And then… He made some strange gestures and, to the astonishment of all who witnessed it, disappeared in a column of flame and smoke… ![]() P.S. Concerning his disappearance in the column of flame… This left us a bit worried. He was hooded, dressed in black and left in the typical demon way. Not mentioning his words that he knew the future. All that together is suspicious… We think that next time he shows up we should ask him a few questions about the Virtues. If he answers them correctly, he is definitely not an evil demon. Real demons know nothing about Virtues!

My Mood: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Elendrik’s visit to Sword and Shovel Really now, since when does being hooded and wearing black mean you're some sort of demon? If anything, black and other dark shades are far more common and easy to come by than bright, flashy clothing. If anyone is suspicious it's folks dressing in the most expensive of brightly colored materials, they're obviously rich or have other means of gaining these little luxuries...

My Mood: | Re: Elendrik’s visit to Sword and Shovel Oh, nice to see Sword and Shovel Tavern in the boards. :cheesy: But I must ask politely the reporters to inform the original posters before the complete cut&paste .Is great to see the news spread, but is good to know where to look. By the way, The original post was write by Lady Concordia, Principal artisan of Valoria. And post by your friendly librarian Solomon Majere. The place that appears in post is the old and fair Sword and Shovel Tavern. A nice place in Valoria. That is a nice and peaceful player-run town that can be found in the Vale north of Minocl. You all are welcome to visit it. Yers, Solomon Majere Member of the Council of Valoria and Lorekeeper Last edited by Solomon Majere of Valoria; 23-06-2006 at 05:21 AM. |
