Coming soon, UTB Chesapeake will be starting up the Chesapeake Tamer League. We will be having weekly competitions to test each tamer's ability to tame pets, train pets and to hunt. After each competition, each tamer will be assigned a number of points based on what place they came in. After 3 months or so, the winner will be crowned grand champion of tamers. There will probably be awards for second and third place too.
I will follow up with another post when I have all of the details and a concrete start date. Nothing like this (to my knowledge) has ever been done in UO. So I have no idea how things are going to go. But I have a feeling that this will be an excellent opportunity for any tamer that likes to compete, learn tricks of the trade or meet new friends. In addition to having a chance to earn bragging rights to say that you are the best tamer on Chessie, I'm sure there will be plenty of prizes too.
Feel free to post ideas, comments or questions.

I am officially announcing our first event.
Here are the details for the event:
Event Date: Friday November 9th
Event Time: 9pm est
Meeting Place: Trammel Skara Brae Stables
Type of Event: Pet Fighting Tournament
Pet type: Nightmares
Awards:
1st place: 500k gold
2nd place: 250k gold
3rd place: 100k gold
The rules for the pet tournament are simple. Two tamers have their pets fight each other to the death. The pet that survives goes on to the next round.
Don't forget that this not just a competition, it is also a league! There will be a different event each week where contestants will be rewarded a number of points depending on what place they come in. At the end of the season (approximately 3 months from the start), the person with the most points will be deemed grand champion of tamers and will also win the grand prize (to be determined). There will also be huge prizes for the people that come in second and third place in the point standings.
We picked the start date so that contestants would have a couple weeks to train their pet. If you have any questions about the league or this event, feel free to post a reply or PM me. If anyone wants to spectate, you can just show up at the appointed time.
